Google abandons another service offering

Google abandons another service offering

This probably won't impact many... but

I started doing the monthly Google photos print subscription about 5 years ago when my daughter was born. To me, it was an easy way to have actual photos of my daughter printed and not just stuck in a cloud somewhere. I plan to make a scrapbook with them.

My son was just born 13 days ago and I totally was planning to keep on going to capture and print his early life.

My bad. I shouldn't have relied on Google.

I'm kinda shocked they haven't brought this back or done spinoffs

I could easily see

Real Housewives Deathmatch

News Anchor Deathmatch

Influencer Deathmatch

...

You get the idea

Pixel 8 randomly starting announcing notifications and seemingly answering non-existent prompts

Last night as we're laying down for bed my wife's phone just started talking out of nowhere. Initially we shrugged it off as maybe it heard something that sounded like the "hey Google" trigger and started responding to what it thought we asked.

But after we were in bed, it did it 2 more times. TV was off, phone on the nightstand charging, us trying to sleep. On the 3rd response I recall hearing it talking about tomorrow's weather.

We powered the phone off for the night and my wife is still in bed.

Anyone have any ideas of what happened? Did some assistive mode for visually challenged people get enabled somehow? Is that possible with a certain button combo or possibly "pocket" enabled?

Thanks
