Aight chat, I’m getting stumped with this one. I have an 85 240 with a b230f and a B cam (came to me that way) and it keeps dying on me when it gets up to temp, or running errands around town in summer heat. It’s not actually overheating coolant wise, but it appears the ignition coil is overheating. I say this because I’ve experienced it before on another car, but I’ve tried 3 different ignition coils on this car to no avail. I swapped the plugs recently to copper core (as the old ones were platinum and the caps were loose) and I thought it fixed it but it did not. It has new cap, new rotor, newer wires, now a new coil and brand new plugs. I’m at a loss now and very frustrated with this car 🙃 I’m about to swap the whole fuel system out because it’s old, has no fuel level and the filters are draining orange gas (rusty). Any help is appreciated!
