Need advice with recently purchased car

Hi Everyone

I got a VW Golf semi-automatic 2012. I bought this car 1 month or so ago. I took it to the garage for servicing and they said I need to replace my water pump and need to replace my timing chain. I plan to go to a garage my family use (they’re about 60-ish miles away) as the locals garages I’ve been quotes from are quoting £1.7k+. I’m stressed don’t know much about cars, there aren’t any fault codes and only rattling on a cold start and if I leave for a number of hours may also rattle then too. I just want to know if I’ll be able to travel that 60 miles without an issue, I’ve driven 450-500 miles even before I got it serviced. I am feeling like this is just an early timing chain wear.

My car was bought at 44k miles, mechanic confirmed mileage hasn’t been clocked/changed. It’s an import car so don’t know its service history and previous owner said he did a service history but he didn’t have the receipt so I’m pretty sure he didn’t. The only pictures I have write now is this. Ugh I don’t know what to do I feel I need a second opinion since the cost is so expensive, literally just under half of what I bought the value for and can’t now spend money on another car. I’m also a new driver and recently passed!!

Staying consistent

Anyone have any advice on staying consistent with walking? Over the last maybe 3 weeks I want to say, I’ve been doing 8-10k walks daily. On Sunday I did the most walks at 25k steps, I’ll leave some pics of the walk here!!
Yesterday however I only did 3k and before then did 6k, I’ve got a few stresses and worries at the moment with a car and my health condition (I have endometriosis, so need to start IVF closer to end of the year!) and I don’t know I’m feeling really deflated. I have gotten much better with my diet too but haven’t managed to cut sugar out completely and did have some sugary foods last couple of days!! I just want to lose a little bit of weight as a lot of weight is on my face, and just feel better after my recovery since I had an operation about 7 weeks ago. Any tips on how everyone is saying consistent with 10k steps?
