Ankhegs Repost: 1 year ago

I joined Reddit exactly 1 year ago and didn’t understand how it worked and dumped every monster picture I had on this sub right away. Hopefully I know a little better now.

It’s been super fun being part of this sub since then and I’ve seen such incredible things and so many talented builders.

The Ankhegs got a little buried in the mix of posts I put up but they’ve always been a favorite of mine. Thanks to everyone who liked my posts in the past year!

Astereater

You may know it as the Eye Monger, but it will always be Astereater to me.

Essentially it’s a dumb beholder without the eye stalks that looks like an asteroid.

My new character: Artificer Artillerist

Blitz the Hobgoblin artificer! I’m starting Dungeon of the Mad Mage tomorrow as a player and I’m super excited to play this character. This will be the first time I’ll be a player in a full campaign since 2017 so I can’t wait. I also made a steampunk style rifle to go with it, but it’s a little too big for her to carry

Murder Comet

This is a silly monster from the spelljammer setting but I’m going to use it for my Star Wars campaign this weekend.

Chimera

This went in several directions before I came to this. At first I was planning on using minifig heads with masks (the lion and eagle guys from chima, and green dragon costume guy) then I decided to just use the brick-built lion head from dreamzzz. So then I was thinking about using the microfighter taun taun head for the “goat”. But once I stuck the red dragon head on, I realized I could easily modify the dreamzzz raven to stick on the other side. Dreamzzz for the win again!!!

I might still see if I can make a small version with the minifig masks for fun

Need help choosing statblocks for these monsters

I’m going to start running a Star Wars adventure soon with my DnD group, and I want to use the arena monsters from Attack of the Clones.

I’m planning on using Kruthik for the Acklay, and I was thinking about using Displacer beast for the Nexu. I don’t know what to do about the Reek.

I appreciate any ideas!

Reek

It took a while (and I was sick for a week) but I finished the Reek for my upcoming Star Wars adventure. I thought this was going to be the easiest of the 3 monsters but that proved to not be the case.

Can’t wait to use these in a game session. I was planning on using kruthik for the acklay, and displacer beast for the nexu. Do you have any suggestions which statblock would be best for the reek? I was thinking maybe bulette but that’s not quite right

Here’s a nexu I made for an upcoming dnd Star Wars adventure I’m running. Can’t wait to throw this at the party

Here’s the nexu I made for my Star Wars adventure. I’m really happy with how it turned out.

When the nexu hits a creature with its claw attack, the target must make a dex saving throw. On a failure, the target’s shirt is ripped in half.
