I received my 10/22 td with magpul backpacker stock like a week before they released this and I mean my heart literally sunk. I loved the paint splatter and forged carbon barrel so much.

I guess I could have sold mine at a loss and pay a lot more than what I paid for mine for the new hotness. Instead I just got another x22 and some rattle cans and did my own thing.

I was considering switching it up a little with the splatter color; black on black like my Rossi triple black, a seafoam green maybe. In the end I went with the white because it pops. Now I’m afraid I went a little overboard. Considering doing some black splatter (a different texture of black paint than the base coat so it still stands out against the background) on top of the white.

My splatter pattern is way different than the ruger factory carbon splatter. Theirs is more stringy. Like a thin drizzle. Mines more typical splatter.

Any thoughts? Love it or hate it? Too much white? Not enough? 86 the black splatter before I ruin it?

Edit: appreciate the love, peeps! I’ll post assembled pics when complete. Just gotta figure out where to go from here and then I want a flat or matte clear coat but don’t want to ruin the look

Got the dual magazine clamp + 2 Turkish contract mags from hkp on a whim cause I’m a moron and $100 seemed like a deal for as long as I’ve been hunting one of these clamps but these magazines don’t seem like any Turkish contract mag I ever saw. I mean they were just a nice addition. An afterthought really. But they seem… nicer.. than any Turkish contract mag I’ve gotten. Certainly nicer than expected.

I’m no expert on them, but I got 3 Turkish mags a couple years ago and they look about like expected for I think like $18 a mag at the time. Like army surplus quality. Almost lightly used. With a little filing and bending here and there on the feed lips and a few layers of duct tape on the front of each mag, I was able to get them working reliably out of my ap5p eventually.

But these.. I’m actually impressed with these. The followers are a nice new chrome, the bodies look sharp upon first glance and the paint looks good? I’m gonna out myself here.. I’ve.. never actually seen a German manufactured mp5 mag in person so I was checking it for marks thinking they may have sent me a few on accident. I don’t see any marks other than “9x19mm” so I don’t guess they are but does anyone know who made these? Are they really Turkish contract magazines?
