I’m new to rogers and I was trying to set up the app but it said to contact them to set it up and provided a number. So I dialled it, settled on ‘tech support’ from their long ass menu options that kept trying to pawn me off to its AI, and was put on hold. I was surprised they didn’t have a callback feature or anything to indicate where you were in line
The bad music interspersed with “we will answer your call as soon as possible. Please stay on the call to keep your place in line” over and over again eventually became background noise as I did other things, except I can still hear it in my head right now, like a command. An hour in, I started falling into the sunk cost fallacy. It’s already been an hour! If I hang up now, I’ve wasted an hour of my life. Surely they’ll answer soon. I have to stay on the call to keep my place in line!
