Hi everyone,
I’ll be joining KU Leuven this fall and as a masters student, and I am bit thorn apart about what to do in my first year there: getting an internship to do throughout the school year, like accompanying a research group or a company, or get a part time (20h per week) to save money.
Regarding the first option, I wanna get more experience, learn more things and enrich my CV, as I’m non-EU, I know that I have to do more than other EU-students in order for the recruiters to even consider my application, so that’s a consideration.
Regarding the second option, although strictly speaking, I don’t need that extra money to cover my expenses and tuition fees, I wanna save money to be able to travel with friends and spend money on things I’d like, in other words, to enjoy to the maximum the time I spend in Belgium.
At the end, I don’t know what to prioritize, and I’ve thought about getting the part-time during the school year and then the internship next summer, however, I’m scared that the research groups for companies don’t take students for short internships of only 2 months or so, as I’ve heard there are some that only have students who stay more than 6 months.
Can anyone give me advice about this?
Note: I’m assuming the internship would be unpaid normally, correct me if I’m wrong.

Edit: Guys, I know that getting an internship or even securing a part-time is very hard. But that’s not the question nor why I made this post. All I’m asking is whether I should focus on the part-time or the internship .

Amanhã vou ter um entrevista para um part-time que quero fazer durante o verão, e disseram-me para comparecer "com vestuário formal, adequado a uma entrevista de trabalho."

Quer isto dizer que tenho que ir de fato para a entrevista? Ou basta por exemplo ir com uma camisa/ polo?

Só para dar contexto, sou estudante de 3º ano da licenciatura em engenharia, em Lisboa, e na descrição do emprego diz que tenho que me conectar com clientes e oferecer produtos "que fazem a diferença", por isso suponho que seja algum tipo de atendimento ao cliente.

Hi everyone, I will be studying in Leuven this fall, and I wanted to ask you about something: what is the average price for a pack of cigarettes in Belgium?
For reference, in the country I’m coming from the average price is 5€ per pack.

Boas pessoal. Sou estudante do 3.º ano de licenciatura em Lisboa e queria arranjar um part-time para o verão, ou pelo menos para julho e agosto. Vou estar a estagiar nesses dois meses, não remunerado, mas decidi aceitar porque é uma área que gosto imenso e vejo-me a trabalhar no futuro. O lado bom é que o horário é flexível e não preciso de ir todos os dias da semana. Por isso estava a pensar em arranjar um part-time que começa por volta da tarde, ou então durante o fim de semana. Isto porque em Setembro vou estudar para fora e precisava de um dinheiro extra. Que tipos de trabalho recomendam para um estudante como eu e onde posso encontrar vagas?

Hi everyone, do you have any recommendations for the health insurance (minimum coverage of 30000€), and they say that I need to have proof that I have or will have health insurance by the time I arrive at Belgium.
How does that work? Like after I talk to the insurance company can they issue a comprovative that I will have insurance starting from September for example?
