Endless Run Showcase

This is my first time completing an endless run. I went into this without looking into any endless guides, just information I’ve picked up from random posts here and there and from what I learned while playing. I did look up a strategy guide and I guess this one is similar to Grex’s strategy with a few twists. Hopefully by revealing this, it doesn’t get patched, but if it does. Any chance the devs want to name this patch after me for ruining it for everyone else?

In this run, the only three Pokemon I think are necessary are Haunter, Delcatty, and Pachirisu (support). I found out the whole normalize/entrainment while grinding to unlock all of the passives. I thought to myself that if only I could always go first, then I could normalize the opponent and never worry as long as I have a ghost. With normalize being the hidden ability, I thought if prankster was a passive, I could get it on to the opponent before they can attack. The only pokemon that fit was haunter, and thus Hautty was born.

Pachirisu is the standard pickup and honey gather. I opted out of runaway because I didn’t want to run away from fights. So pickup is there to get an item that I can move around and honey gather is there to get me money every round. Fun fact, money caps at 9,007,199,254,745,991 and Pachirisu by this point was brining in more than 1 sextillion each round by this point so I could dump all my money reroll g each round and instantly fill back up.

The big issues with this strategy is you’re invulnerable for the most part, but what now. We need a carry that will get you to 3000 at least. I ran Kyogre this time because I’ve never tried it. I’ve done Zacian and Reshiram before but only made it to like early 3000s before losing. I don’t think you need to bring a monster carry with you because you can find something along the way to help you until damage no longer means anything. I managed to run into three Kyogres and two Reshirams before wave 2000 so I think you could find a good hard carry somewhere along the way.

I also brought Trevenant as my DoT mon. I had the T3 shiny so I ran with it to get more luck, but I so so many during my play through. Trevenant was essential because of the moveset it brought. The usual DoT moves, Leech Seed, Salt Cute (fusion), and Curse. The last move is a common endless move, soak (fusion). Soak is essential because prankster does not work on Dark types. I will state that Haterenne also has access to Magic Powder which does the same as Soak, but turns them pure Psychic type. Pure psychic still works, but too many Pokemon (grass types/those with overcoat) are immune to powder moves. So with Trevenant (fused with anyone with sturdy works) can change their type and then go down, allowing Hautty to come back and use Entrainment.

Another issue I came across were times where priority moves could not work. This being psychic terrain or the abilities Dazzling or Queenly Majesty. With this, I needed to find another strategy to stop this. For a normal (non-boss) battle, I would throw a Master Ball and move on (I had 99 pretty much the whole time). For a normal double battle, I can’t throw a ball, but I can Perish Song. After giving both opposing pokemon normalize, I brought in an T2 Shiny Altaria I picked up before wave 1000. All of my pokemon had a ghost Tera shard, but I found a T3 Shiny Polteageist I fused with so it’s always a ghost. For a single Boss battle, I would got DoT, but easier for a Master Ball. A double boss battle went the same as a normal double battle, but with no Perish Song. So I would go DoT and wait until the battle was over. I did fuse the Altaria randomly throughout the run so it also had Population Bomb from a Maushold I picked up and Spectral Theif from a T3 Shiny Marshadow. With Spectral theif, I could take their buffs (especially speed) and then hit them 10 times with a Population Bomb to hopefully flinch then.

The last issue you’ll see are pokemon where Normalize can’t be transferred to. Gholdengo and pokemon with form changing abilities (Aegislash, Eiscue, Cramorant, etc). Chuck a Master Ball and move on, UNLESS you get stuck with two Gholdengos. Hardest battle. Only Leech seed worked so I had to hope they flinched ever turn and never moved because none of my pokemon on were safe.

All in all. I think endless run is meant to find a way to win. The usual Metal Burst/Runaway didn’t seem fun. But becoming invulnerable was fun. Pretty much most of the waves after 4000 were just throw Rouge Balls until they were caught. I got so many candies, shinies, and egg vouchers. If you want an easy way to farm, I’d say this is a viable option. Also, anyone doing this or any endless run, don’t actually do the final battle and save…my run is gone now. I thought it would stay there. Guess I have to run it back.

***Edit. I forgot to talk about moves that change type like Hidden Power or Weather Ball. Those are not affected by Normalize and can still hit you. Then there’s also the obvious Scrappy Pokemon as a passive. You just have to keep hitting them and hope they flinch.

Made a museum in the wastelands

I’m not very original so I pretty much used the actual museum as the inspiration. I thought it came out pretty well considered that I don’t use the wireless power boxes so all power are power lines hidden around/under/in the museum.
