And now, after all this time, there is nothing left to do but wait; to see whether you’ll finally step out from behind the words and let me hear you say what I already know your heart has been trying to tell me…

Tides

I’m not coming back this time…

…not because I no longer care, but because I have already placed my heart in your hands more times than I can count. First, second, third, fourth… I have stood before you without armor, laid my rawest emotions at your feet, and trusted you with the parts of me that were most afraid to be seen.

I have been vulnerable enough for both of us.

So if you want me, this time, it is your turn.

I will not chase what must choose me freely. I will not keep knocking on a door I have already opened from my side. If there is something in you that reaches for me, then let it have a voice. Let it step out from behind its fear and meet me in the light.

And if you do, you will find that I have not hardened my heart against you. I will be here…

…with the same open arms, the same gentle heart, and the same love I have always carried for you.

But this time, I need you to cross the distance.

The Echo

You’re an idiot,

you’ve always been an idiot—

or so the cruelest voice inside you whispers

when the silence becomes too loud.

He saw nothing extraordinary in you.

You built a cathedral
from glances, fragments,
half-spoken things,
and called the warmth between them
something sacred.

Perhaps you imagined it all.

Perhaps every door you thought was opening

was only the wind,

and every silence you mistook for longing

was simply silence.

So stop.

Stop reaching into the dark

for a hand that was never reaching back.

Stop breathing life into ashes

because you remember

how brightly the fire once burned.

There are some things

we keep alive only because

we cannot bear to admit

they have already died.

And maybe that is the hardest truth:

Not every connection is a beginning.
Some are only echoes—
the sound of your own heart
calling into a place
where no one is coming.

So let the echo fade.

Let the imagined future
return to the realm of imagination.

Let what you hoped for
be mourned for what it was—
not because it was foolish to love,
but because you deserve a love
that does not require you
to become an archaeologist
digging through silence
for proof that you mattered.

You do not have to keep listening
for a voice that never answers.
Sometimes healing begins
when you finally understand:
the hollow sound was never his absence.
It was the space you kept empty
waiting for him to fill.

And now—

you can fill it yourself.
You can walk away
without another explanation,
without another sign,
without one final echo.

Because some doors do not close
with a slam.

Some simply stop opening.

And sometimes
the most profound act of love
is no longer knocking.

Warrior

Dear Warrior,

When change arrives as fire, do not mistake its burning for destruction.

You have spent your life learning how to stand your ground, to raise your shield, tighten your armor, and meet every force that threatens to undo you with a strength born from survival. But there are fires that cannot be extinguished by force. There are battles in which trying to preserve everything as it was only keeps you from becoming what you were meant to be.

So when the fire comes, warrior, do not fight it.

Yield.

Let it burn through you.

For surrender is not the opposite of strength. Sometimes, surrender is the most courageous act a warrior can make. It is the willingness to place what you have outgrown into the flames and trust that losing it does not mean losing yourself.

The fire may consume your certainty. It may melt the armor you once believed you needed. It may reduce familiar pieces of your life to ash. But ash is not always an ending. Sometimes it is the soil from which something truer can rise.

Remember: you were never meant to remain untouched by the fire

You were meant to be transformed by it.

There will be moments when your instinct is to protect what is familiar, to reach into the flames and rescue the pieces of yourself you recognize. But not everything that burns is meant to be saved. Some things must become ash so that you can finally understand what was never meant to survive with you.

So let the fire come.

Let it burn away the fear, the armor, the old identities, and every version of yourself you created simply to survive.

Do not ask the fire to leave you unchanged.

Ask it to leave you true.

And when you finally step from the ashes, do not mourn the warrior who entered the flames.

Honor her, for she carried you here.

But you are no longer who you were when you walked in.

You are tempered now.

Forged.

And perhaps destroying you was never the purpose of the fire.

Perhaps the purpose of the fire was to reveal clearly and concisely that which could not be destroyed.

For it is through fire that the ordinary is stripped away leaving only…

the warrior.

She learned young that armor could do more than shield her from the storms…it could make her disappear within them. What began as protection slowly became a cloak of invisibility, teaching her that if she hid enough of herself, the world could never wound what it could not see.

Unsteady

My whole life, I have learned about love long after it was already over.

I have discovered, in the quiet aftermath, that someone loved me when I was still standing beside them, completely unaware. That someone carried feelings they were too afraid to speak, and by the time I found out, there was nothing left to reach for. No chance to answer. No chance to choose them back. No chance to discover what might have happened if we had both been brave at the same time.

And I am tired of learning about love in the past tense.

Is there anyone who isn't afraid of vulnerability? Someone who, when they realize their heart has begun to belong to another, doesn't run from it?

Someone who can look at the person they love and say, I love you, while there is still time for those words to change everything?

Because I am exhausted from mourning loves I was never given the opportunity to live.

So if you love me, tell me.

Even if you think it's doomed. Even if you're terrified. Even if you don't know where it could lead. Tell me while the feeling is still alive, while there is still a door between us that neither of us has closed.
Because I cannot bear another love arriving at my doorstep only after it has already left.

If you love me, don't let go simply because you're afraid of what might happen if you hold on.

Don't let fear make the decision for two people who may have spent their whole lives searching for exactly this.

If you love me, be brave enough to let me know.
And then…please…don't let go.

Let me choose you, too.
