I'm putting together a board to gig with, and I'm having to decide what's worth spending on and what to get cheap. I have never had a noise gate before, and I definitely need one.
Reverb is flooded with cheap gates, but are any of them worth it? Or is this something I should spend $100 to get the Boss or the TC?

I'm an amateur musician who, in my spare time, practices law for money. I work in-house (for a company) doing nothing at all related to the arts, and recently I've been kicking around the idea of starting a side gig trying to help musicians.
I'm thinking stuff like copyright and trademark work, band agreements, venue agreements, etc. But not litigation.
Here's what I don't know: pro and semi-pro musicians - do you all use lawyers? If so how? If you've been priced out of getting legal help, how much was it going to cost?
I recently lost about 45 lbs and am slowly reupping my wardrobe. I rarely wear jeans to the office, but I need at least one or two pairs of denim that I can wear to work or to a semi-casual dinner.
Some data:
- I'm trying to keep the price tag below $120 a pair.
- I would typically style them with a button-down, always tucked in, and potentially a sport coat or sweater.
- I have relatively sturdy thighs, even post weight loss.
Any suggestions on where to start my search?
I am looking to get new chorus and flanger pedals for my board and I know people love the SCF as a chorus pedal, but what about the "F"?
I've heard mixed reviews about the flanger, would love anyone's experience. If it matters, I'd definitely be looking at the reissue, not an OG.
