H. pylori treatment timeline – was my treatment approach normal?
I'm trying to understand whether my H. pylori treatment was typical or if anyone had a similar experience.
I had an endoscopy that showed H. pylori positive. However, immediately after the endoscopy my gastroenterologist did not start me on what I thought was standard H. pylori eradication therapy.
Instead, I was prescribed:
- Esomeprazole (Nexpro 40)
- Rifaximin 550 mg
- Acotiamide 100 mg
- Itopride (Ganaton OD)
- Probiotic capsules
I took these medicines for about a month.
From what I've read, standard H. pylori treatment usually involves a PPI plus antibiotics such as amoxicillin, clarithromycin, metronidazole, etc. That's why I was confused when I was initially given medicines mainly for acid suppression, motility, bloating, and gut health.
About a month later, my doctor prescribed an eradication regimen that included Amoxicillin along with other medicines, which seemed more like H. pylori treatment.
My questions are:
Has anyone else been treated this way, where symptom-control medicines were given first and eradication therapy started later?
Is it common to delay H. pylori eradication for a month after a positive endoscopy?
Were the initial medicines likely meant to treat gastritis/functional dyspepsia while preparing for eradication therapy?
Did anyone have a similar experience and still achieve successful eradication?
I completed all prescribed medications exactly as directed and never skipped doses.
Any insights would be appreciated.
Title: Need Windows laptop recommendations
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to buy a new Windows laptop and would appreciate some recommendations.
My typical workload:
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM, Copilot, and other AI tools (mostly cloud-based)
Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Documentation and research
Python and light automation
Basic design work (Canva/Figma)
Heavy multitasking with multiple browser tabs
Requirements:
Budget: Under ₹40k and ₹40k–60k
Windows 11
16 GB RAM (minimum)
1 TB SSD preferred (or 512 GB if easily upgradeable)
Good battery life (8–10 hours preferred)
Full HD IPS display
Good keyboard and build quality
Should last 5+ years
Reliable after-sales service in India
Questions:
Which laptops would you recommend in both price ranges?
Intel or AMD for this type of workload?
Are AI PCs (Core Ultra/Ryzen AI) worth paying extra for, or should I focus on raw CPU performance?
Which brands have the best reliability and service in India?
Are there any models I should avoid due to heating, battery drain, or build quality issues?
Thanks in advance!
