Re homed dog not eating and scared of any movements?

We recently adopted a 5-year-old retired breeder Bernese Mountain Dog. She has a clean bill of health from the vet, but we're really struggling to help her settle in with us and our other dog.

It’s been 5 days and she is barely eating. Initially, she’d eat a little bit out of my hand, but now she won't even do that. We are offering the exact same kibble she had at her previous home. Luckily, she is still drinking water.

Beyond the food strike, she is terrified of everything (small noises, leaves moving, etc.) and is ignoring all the commands her previous family said she knew. We understand her being a breeder dog along with major change in environment is a major factor.

Our first rescue adapted to us by day 3, so we are feeling a bit lost and worried. We know it takes time, but does anyone have advice on how to get her eating again and help her build some confidence? Suggestions on food will be appreciated too.

The shit hit the fan: My NC family found out I got married, and realizing my sister is turning into my Mom

So I been NC with my whole family for little over a year, been NC with my parents for over 3 years at this point. I had to cut contact with my mom after she sent threatening messages to my then-fiancée, now wife. We ended up getting married without even inviting my family. I knew they would just make the day all about themselves, and honestly, why would we invite people who threatened us?

Well the shit hit the fan, Some of our relatives somehow came across my wife’s private Facebook profile and saw our wedding pictures, and word got back to my family.

Instead of messaging us asking us why they were not included, my sister messaged me and my wife with a stern warning not to have my wife take my last name which is also my dads name . I am still in disbelief. She blamed my wife for alot of things , exactly what my mom used to do. After those messages I just stopped engaging with my sister.

Recently we opened my whatsapp for the first time in 4 months just to see barrage of messages from my sister ranging from name calling, threatening to straight up wanting me dead. She blames me for her misery, how can she ever get married now and how the society looks at them. Since now my relatives found out about this and now my family is more worried about what will they say ?? and we are tarnishing our name.

Like, what? Where was this concern for our name when our mom was threatening us? Where was this when our dad was making my sister's own life a living hell by trying to force her into a marriage? I had to step in protect her leading to me going NC with my dad.

Anyway, now the threats have shifted. She's demanding I either pay back all the money my family spent on my education and formally state I don't need any inheritance ever, or else "I'm not a man.".

am just in disbelief at how much my sister's messages sound exactly like the ones my mom used to send me. At this point, none of this affects me on a day-to-day basis. I built a loving life here, with an amazing woman and friends who are my family now. But goddamn, I just feel sad that my sister turned out to be this way.

Has anyone else ever have day dreams of their family getting their shit together and then immediately get that destroyed by their actions again and again?

I am doing a backyard revamp and need about 1 to 1.5 yards of 3/4" crushed gravel. Pricing from big box stores is way too steep for bulk material so looking to find a local landscaping or aggregate supplier that delivers instead.

Anyone have recommendations in the Malden area? Thanks !!
