How do modern Christians think about usury?

Exodus 22:25
Leviticus 25:35-37
Deuteronomy 23:19-20

These all directly condemn charging ANY interest on loaned money.

And further: the ancient world, even when they did permit usury, had far lower maximum interest rates than the modern world.

I would think that Christian nationalists, and religious fundamentalists would be against the practice of lending money and to this end be much more against capital markets.

Can some religious folks share how you reconcile the modern lending landscape with your religious beliefs on this topic.

I’m not trying to stir the pot. Genuinely curious what people think.

How to not get down while using apps?

31m here haven’t been in a relationship in 5 years. Mostly been working on myself and for a while knew I wasn’t ready for a relationship. Now that I do feel more ready I tried hinge and tinder for about 3 months.

I had to delete them though because my mental health and outlook took a nosedive. I don’t think I’m unattractive. I’ve put effort into myself.. I iterated on my profile with about all of the profile advice out there.

But I swipe on a bunch of interesting people each day and after 3 months I had 3 matches total. Had 5 but 2 disappeared after I messaged. All 3 are giving me like 1 word responses. I think at least 1 is a bot.

Is this normal and I just need to put more time/effort in?
And mainly, for those in similar circumstances, how do you keep your head up while using apps?

Thanks for advice!

Plausibility of AGI carrying institutional knowledge?

I feel like I’m going nuts. I work in low level IT but like to stay relatively informed on AI trends and progress.

I like thinking about potential effects on humanity, the good and bad.

I can’t understand why this isn’t part of the discourse. I’m just wondering if I’m off my rocker?

elites have needed institutional knowledge since always… hospitals, schools, corporate institutions all carry the continuity of knowledge through the continued training of specialists to replicate and advance practices and technologies! And we need the masses of people to support these institutions… until AGI can take over that continuity, maintaining the ability to train an individual specialist or just preform those specialist tasks without the need for the supporting institutional structure.

This explains the absurd capital investment. Once AGI is achieved and sufficient automation is implemented, the elite can detach from society. Which would be the first time EVER that they have had this capability.
