My dads started falling

My dad is 62, he’s always been a drinker my whole life. He’s recently retired and had a great life and family, but he’s always had some internal issues he doesn’t talk about.

Hes progressively lost weight, has eating issues like cannot swallow a lot and tends to feel like it’s stuck, he is a diabetic, since he’s retired he’s been drinking more and everyone has encouraged him to go see a doctor to help with his eating issues. But he is so stubborn and refuses or ignores you.

A few weeks ago he was drinking and fell, nothing too crazy happened. Tonight he was drinking and went to bed, my mom heard a bang, she found him in the bathroom trying to stand up but he couldn’t, he later laid back down to wait for my sister to come help. My mum said he seemed unresponsive for a few seconds when she called his name and then he eventually got up with their help and went back to bed stating he was fine, he said he scraped the side of his torso. My sister called an ambulance and the lady was asking a bunch of questions and then eventually my dad told her he didn’t need them and he was fine.

I just feel so sad seeing him deteriorate, and his constant refusal to seek help. I know I can’t do anything but it just sucks having to watch him suffer to death. I also feel so bad for my mum having to see him and thinking he was about to die while she held him. I just can’t sleep tonight I don’t know what to do.

Difficulty swallowing food & refusal to see Dr?

My dad is 67. Approx 5 years ago he started feeling like food would get caught/stuck in his throat, he went to the doctors and from what he's told me (he's very stubborn and doesn't share much) they did a swallow xray and they suggested he go for an endoscope, he never went back.

Since then, he has lost 10-20kg of weight & muscle. he can only have a few mouthfuls of food before he feels like its "stuck" in his throat, sometimes lower towards the mid chest, and then proceeds to cough a bit and then go to the bathroom to try and vomit it back up. This routine is daily if not after every meal. He avoids a lot of food now and doesn't eat in public anymore. Other factors is that hes a type 2 diabetic, he is an alcoholic drinking from 9am to 8pm currently. The drinking has been for my whole life. Other than that he is super in denial and does not want to see a doctor and gets angry when its suggested. Ive expressed my fears and sadness but he says its "his business" and even if "he had cancer he wouldn't tell anyone about it". I've spoken to him about his quality of life and that seeing a Dr could help, but again he is super against going.

What could this be? If it was cancer, how long do people usually live like this?

I am not asking for medical advice.

Calboolture vs Melbourne?

Kinda torn here, wanting to buy my first property $600-700k unit or townhouse. Been looking at Calboolture and Melbourne, I like both for different reasons. Obviously would like it to be in a high growth area but nobody knows for sure. Not sure which area has better growth potential in the next 5 years. would like some opinions as I dont really know much about this stuff.

What kind of marble is this?

I chipped my kitchen countertop. Is this granite or marble? Or what material is this? Does anyone know if I could fix this on my own. I got a quote of $400+ by a professional and would obviously like to avoid that if it’s possible.
