Shopify or WooCommerce for someone starting dropshipping?

Hey guys, I'm planning to get into dropshipping and would love some advice from people who have experience with it.

I know a bit about WordPress and already have my own WordPress website, so I'm wondering whether I should start with WooCommerce or Shopify. Which would you recommend for a beginner, and why?

Also, I understand that I don't necessarily need to own or manufacture products myself. Can I sell third-party products while the supplier handles inventory and shipping?

I'm interested in exploring e-commerce from two perspectives, learning and gaining practical experience with e-commerce SEO, and potentially building an additional source of income.

If you've tried dropshipping, what has your experience been like? Any tips, common mistakes, or challenges you've faced along the way would be really helpful!

SEO freelancers, how did you build your portfolio and get your first clients?

I'm currently building my career in SEO and digital marketing, and I'm curious to learn from people who have already been working in this field.

For those of you working as freelance SEO specialists or running your own digital marketing services:

  1. How did you build your initial SEO portfolio, especially when you didn't have many clients or case studies?

  2. Did you create your own website to showcase your SEO skills, or did you use platforms like LinkedIn, Upwork or Fiverr?

  3. How did you find your first few clients, and which methods actually worked for you?

  4. How do you demonstrate SEO results to potential clients, particularly when the results take months to show?

  5. If you were starting from scratch today, what would you do differently?

I'm also working on my own website and experimenting with SEO, content and digital marketing. I'd love to hear about your experiences, mistakes and lessons learned.

Thanks in advance for sharing!

What tools do you use alongside Meta Ads Manager to become better at Meta Ads?

I'm learning Meta Ads and trying to understand what tools experienced marketers actually use in their day-to-day work.

Apart from Meta Ads Manager, what tools do you use for:

• Ad and competitor research

• Audience and campaign strategy

• Creative development

• Tracking and attribution

• Performance analysis

• Reporting and optimization

Note:

I'm particularly interested in practical tools you actually use regularly, rather than a long list of tools you've heard about.

Would love to hear what your day-to-day Meta Ads toolkit looks like and which tools you consider essential.

Did anyone receive a rejection mail after attending the GOC test ?

Did anyone receive a rejection mail after attending the GOC test? Just wanted to know if they’ve started sending rejections to candidates who didn’t clear the GOC, or if they’re planning to send the updates to everyone together.

Just checking specifically for after the GOC test, not before. Did anyone receive a rejection mail after GOC?

My Insights & Advice for Everyone Waiting for the Google Apprenticeship

I also know a friend who got into the role, and their entire process took until around November/December to complete. So don’t worry if things seem slow right now. There can be 1–3 week gaps between some rounds, while for others, the next round may happen very quickly.

The communication can also be different for everyone. Some people may suddenly receive a telephonic call, while others may get an email or a link to schedule a slot. I’ve even heard of cases where an email was sent after someone missed a call. So keep checking your phone, email, and candidate profile regularly, especially until at least September 15th.

Also remember that a large number of people have applied, so the initial filtering process can take time. Just because someone else has already received a call doesn’t mean you have been rejected.

If you haven’t received anything yet, keep preparing. The upcoming rounds, especially the later interview rounds, shouldn’t be taken lightly. Depending on the role, there can be technical/domain-related questions along with behavioural and situational questions.

And even after the interviews, team matching can be an important part of the process. From what I’ve heard, clearing the interview rounds does not necessarily mean you immediately get an offer. You still need to be matched with a suitable team, and this can take additional time.

So my advice is simple: keep checking for updates, keep improving the skills required for the role, and keep preparing until you actually receive a rejection.

At the same time, don’t stop looking at other opportunities. Keep your options open.

The process may take until November/December for some candidates, so be patient and don’t overthink the waiting period.

All the best, everyone! :)
