Why does mainstream media still cast everyone except Asian males?
I saw a lot of Asian female/Black male couples in advertisement in recent years. It's like some conspiracy. They can never show an AMs, but showing AFWM for a zillionth time will be labeled as racist, so they show AFBM.
Asian/Black interracial couples (both AFBM and AMBF) are so tiny compared to AMAF. Not to mention this alienates both AM and BF.
Imported KDramas are a huge money maker for Netflix worldwide.
Yet, when it comes to their own American-made media, they must leave out AM like in this recent film.

>In May 2024, it was announced that Louis Leterrier would direct a science fiction horror film titled 11817, with a screenplay by Matthew Robinson.[3] Greta Lee and Kingsley Ben-Adir were cast in the lead roles.[4] In January 2025, Netflix acquired the project, with Wagner Moura replacing Ben-Adir.[5]
So this movie originally cast Asian female/Black male, then they changed it to Asian female with a rather white-passing Latino male.
If they made it AMAF, it could have been pretty revolutionary, showing a full Asian family.
Despite huge evidence showing the marketability of Asian males, will both Asian males and Black females always be subjected to legacy gendered racism and Intersectional Discrimination?
