I used to work at Vodafone a few years ago, and I’ve just come across reports about an alleged Vodafone employee data leak.

From what I’ve read, a threat actor claims to have around 425,000 Vodafone employee records taken from Azure/Entra. The reported information includes full names, email addresses, job titles, phone numbers and postal addresses.

Since I’m a former employee, I’m pretty worried that my information could potentially be included, especially since it’s unclear how old the data actually is.

What should former employees realistically be doing to protect themselves? Is there any way to find out whether your information was actually included?

Edit: I feel so dumb sometimes - I didn’t even think about some of the basic things you should do when something like this happens. So thanks for humbling me.

I got NordPass and changed all of my passwords. Thank God for Reddit as well, because I managed to find a discount code for NordPass (discountpass) and got it relatively cheap. I also froze my credit at all three bureaus.

Hopefully this whole thing just blows over and I won’t actually be affected. Thanks all!

Ngl this has me WORRIED.

I've been using Apple's Hide My Email because I genuinely thought it was one of the safest ways to keep my real email private. Now I'm seeing reports that someone may have found a way to figure out the real email behind those aliases... and apparently this was reported to Apple OVER A YEAR AGO. OVER. A. YEAR. AGO. WTF, Apple????

I use Coveron to keep an eye on whether my personal info shows up in leaks, and so far I haven't seen anything that looks like it came from this. But now I'm kinda wondering if I'm just missing something??? Like am I checking the wrong things???

Funny enough I literally signed up like 2 weeks ago because I found a discount code (prodeal, idk, might as well leave it here), and NOW this story drops. Did the universe seriously have my back for once or what???

Is anyone else using an identity monitoring service?? Have you noticed anything weird with your Apple email or aliases??? Or am I just spiraling here???
