i want to make this kind of drone/miner things where you jump in move it mine what you want and go back to the main ship, but i have no idea what could i do to:
1- control the speed of the helix so it could just hover at the desired height
2- move it, so one can go forward backwards left and right
3- make it turn?

i would like to keep it simple and bare-bones so it is light, but i dont need it to be cheap, could any of you help me?
