My dog brought this beauty home
My aspin (dog on the right) brought this beautiful dog back to our house last week. She is now staying with us. I don't like the idea that my dog brought home his girlfriend. I'm envious. 🤣
What is the most ridiculous superstition for you?
This is not to mock our Filipino superstition. I personally practice some of it despite how ridiculous some of them sounds. Mine is the superstition that we should avoid sweeping away at night to avoid sweeping away luck or wealth.
Did anyone else try the Wildfit Challenge here? What was the most challenging part for you?
Mine was week 4 and week 6 (alkagizer prime).
What's your best financial survival strategy?
Mine is the 30-Day “Buy Nothing” Challenge by Chris Williamson. I successfully completed it, and now I try to apply the principles to my daily life. Whenever possible, I also make it a goal to do the challenge every month. How about you guys?
Feeling tired sometimes...
I’ve built my life on a 10/10 strength, driven by a grit that won't break and a refusal to ever back down. But the surface isn't invincible. Sometimes the cracks show, and I get tired. Deeply tired. Tired enough to doubt myself, and tired enough to wonder what it's all for.
Love/Hate Relationship with Being Alone
It's not just me, right? There are people who, when they're alone, feel like they have their whole life together, that they don't need anyone to feel complete. And then there are days when that same solitude feels completely different, when it makes you think that you have no one else, and the silence suddenly feels much heavier.
Maybe that's the paradox of being alone: sometimes it's freedom, and sometimes it's loneliness.
Foam Coffee
It’s Sunday, and after finishing my mandatory annual physical exam in Quezon City, I needed some actual food.
I was wandering around Quezon Avenue looking for a breakfast spot and stumbled upon Foam Coffee.
The place has this futuristic, high-tech interior design. Personally? Not really my thing. I prefer quiet, serene coffee shops with a view like Palpitate in Tanay. But I came here to eat, so let’s get into it.
When looking at a menu, I always look for something unique that you don’t see everywhere else. Today, that was the Uji Kyoto Hojicha and the Bulgogi Tapa.
First, the drink. The Hojicha has a really nice roasted flavor. You can tell there’s matcha in it, but the earthy, grassy notes are much lighter than your standard matcha latte. Very smooth. Rating: 4 out of 5.
Next, the Bulgogi Tapa. Honestly, this alone is worth coming back for. The beef is insanely tender, sweet, and savory. The vinegar on the side cuts through the richness perfectly, the egg was cooked spot-on, and the portion size actually fills you up. Rating: 5 out of 5.
All in all, ambiance aside, the food and drinks here definitely deliver. If you’re ever around Quezon Ave, give these two a shot. In fact, that Bulgogi Tapa was so good I’m probably going to try recreating it at home this week.
Drop The Bean
I had some time to spare before a meeting in Makati. They told me it would take about an hour before everyone arrived, so I decided to walk around and find a coffee shop.
That's when I came across Drop The Bean.
The first thing that caught my attention was the space itself. It didn't immediately feel like a coffee shop. The lighting, the interior, and the atmosphere reminded me more of a cocktail bar. If someone told me this place transformed into a bar at night, I probably wouldn't question it.
I was welcomed by a woman who introduced herself as the owner. While the staff were having a meeting, her husband prepared my drink. It gave the visit a more personal feel.
She recommended the Seoul Latte for ₱250.
It's on the sweeter side, so it may not be the first choice for those who prefer a more bitter cup of coffee. Even so, the coffee flavor still comes through, making it an easy drink to enjoy.
For me, it's a 4 out of 5.
The price is a little higher than what many people would expect for a daily coffee, but considering the quality of the drink and the experience, I thought it was worth trying.
If you're in Makati and have some time to slow down, Drop The Bean might be worth a visit.
