I recently added a 1983 Datejust reference 16014 to round out my six piece collection. I’ve greatly favored the 5 digit vintage/neo-vintage references overtime as opposed to the newer 6 digit models. Even though I have a 7.5-7.75 inch wrist, I prefer the slimmer case profile and overall wear of the older Rolex examples.
I recently posted my collection but just added another new piece to close out my 6 piece box. I also have a Casio Baby-G, 1992 Hamilton Khaki and a neo-vintage 2000’s blue wave dial Seamaster that is overdue for a service.
I’ve added a LNOS Datejust ref 16014, complete collectors set. Fluted/Jubilee quickset. The condition was amazing for a 1983 example. Full Tritium lume plots. The white gold indices and coronet have developed a warm gilt like patina, possibly from oxidation of the tritium over time. The date wheel has also developed a warm tone. Open ‘6’ & ‘9’ numerals.
Current collection now consists of this piece, my Explorer I ‘Swiss Only’ Dial, Speedmaster sapphire sandwich, IWC ref 521 (Caliber 89) sharkfin, ALS 1815 Up/Down and my VC Traditionnelle 82172.
I’m done for the rest of the year… I hope lol.
Recently added a rose gold IWC 521 ‘Shark Fin’ from the 1960’s. Caliber 89. It’s on a cognac alligator strap. I was fortunate enough to find this piece in pristine, unpolished and non-refinished condition.

The only other piece that has caught my eye is the new JLC Master Control collection with their new integrated bracelet addition. I’m excited to see reviews once the collection is released to the public later this year.
