My conure won’t stop itching and is scratching herself bloody — what can I do until I find treatment?

My 1.5-year-old pineapple conure has been itching intensely and preening herself A LOT, especially around her head. Because her nails are sharp asf, she ended up scratching herself hard enough to bleed a little. I'm also worried she could seriously scratch her eye, because one edge of it is a little red now, which I think is from her scratching so much. The other side is completely normal, so I'm really worried she might end up injuring her eye badly if the itching keeps going.

We took her to the vet, and the vet said it could possibly be mites based on looking over her skin while I was holding her. She couldn't do a proper close inspection because my conure is VERY defensive and bites anyone other than me. She advised giving her 1 drop of meloxicam and getting Mitokill spray, but it's currently unavailable everywhere I’ve looked.

The itching is NOT stopping though, and I'm worried she's going to keep hurting herself. I was thinking of trimming her nails so she can't scratch herself as badly.

Is there ANY safe home remedy I can use to help with the itching until I can find Mitokill? And is trimming her nails a good idea in this situation?

URGENT possible scalp infection or sudden feather loss on my 1 year old pineapple conure 😭🙏🏻

Okay so this is my pineapple conure.

She’s 1 year and 2 months old and today out of nowhere I noticed this thick yellow crust like layer peeling off from her head I genuinely thought it was some random piece of paper stuck on her at first but holy shit it’s literally attached to her scalp and I cannot stop panicking over it. After noticing that I decided to let her bathe not forcefully or anything I just showed her the usual bowl of water and she immediately jumped in and cleaned herself. Nothing unusual just some sheath in the water. The FIRST picture is her completely wet with this insanely visible bald spot. She bathed around 4 or 5 days ago and there was absolutely no bald spot like this back then and now it’s suddenly so obvious and I’m genuinely terrified because this does not look normal at all and I’m scared this could be some serious infection or skin condition that suddenly got worse overnight
