Colour scheme help!

I’m really struggling to find the right shade of aubergine/oxblood/burgundy to go with the blue. I keep seeing things on Pinterest that are exactly what I’m after but then I’m struggling to find the exact paint shades that match the vision. Any suggestions as to what might work?

I’ve painted the rail Brinjal by Farrow and Ball but I can’t work out if it’s too much.

For context, I’ll be painting the wall above the dado rail Taupe 03 by Lick. The blue is Blue 04 by Lick.

Roles for ex-police

I’m currently serving as a police officer but keen to leave the police within the next 12 months, hopefully to a role within the civil service. I’ve been keeping my eye on the civil service jobs page and have seen a fair amount of investigative roles in various departments.

I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience of an investigator role within the civil service that they can share. What is your day to day like?

And if anyone has any tips for the application process for these roles that would be appreciated!

Advice needed

I’ve removed wallpaper from this wall which has uncovered this grey, crumbly substance underneath as well as some paint. I’ve chipped off the edges of the paint as best I can and then sanded them down. I’ve then covered them in poly filla which I intend to sand down to ultimately paint over the wall with a mist coat (as needed) before my desired colour.

Is this the right thing to do? Advice needed!
