JS took advantage of a time when things could not be verified: He talked of 'Quakers on the moon' but they couldn't visit to verify: He claimed 'Zelph' but they couldn't verify DNA: He 'translated' the BOA, but they couldn't verify the translation. Well, the church no longer has this luxury.

Even as a TBM, I had issue with a few things. For example, the 'first and great commandment' is "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God"...How can you command someone to love you? Do you tell your kids, 'I command you to love me'? It doesn't work and sounds desperate.

To me, this is the smoking gun...that it's not true

Church:
Joseph saw and spoke with Heavenly Father.

Canonized 1835-1921: The Father being a personage of spirit...The Son...a personage of tabernacle.

Canonized 1943 to present: The Father has a body of flesh and bones...the Son also.

This is the only time in the history of mankind that Heavenly Father has visited the earth. Something so grandiose and revelatory and the church can't get it's story straight and contradicts itself, even with first hand knowledge.

Baseball game with Journey

While I was an older teen, the local radio station WRIF staff/DJs played a baseball game with Journey/roadies, with the public invited. I attended. The crowd grew rather large... all members of the band played, except Steve Perry. After the game, a bus pulled up near home plate, to pick up the band. I was right near the fence by home plate. The crowd saw the bus and started pressing toward home base. I could feel the crowd against me, pushing me into the fence. So much so, that I was no longer standing upright. I was leaning and holding onto the fence to keep me up. The bus doors opened and the crowd pressed further. As this happened, a large van pulled up near the duggout and the band popped out and ran into the van and left. The homeplate bus was a decoy. 👀
