Reflecting on Progress

Hey everyone!

I’m almost to my (first) goal weight of 299lbs, which is so exciting!

I don’t know if anyone else had this struggle, but I used to be terrified of knowing what I weighed because I felt so much shame from it. (Stems from having diets shoved down my throat from my mother since I was like 9.)

So for years, I just didn’t look at the number when I went to the doctor. Recently I was able to face that fear, gradually. I would still cry in the beginning of the process, especially because I didn’t realize I had gotten this far in weight gain. But since starting wegovy in October 2025, I weigh myself weekly.

All that to say, I was curious about how I compare now to years past. I dug up my old doctor reports from each physical. And guys… I weigh less than I did in Jan 2020!!! By about 5 lbs. I’ve literally undone 6 years of weight gain.

I’m flabbergasted because I thought I was much lower back then, mostly because I still feel weaker than I did then. This discovery has motivated me to keep up the progress AND to start incorporating more movement into my life. I’ve been primarily changing my diet because it hurt to move when I started. But I remember going on hikes back then! I can definitely do that again if I start building up the stamina!

Just wanted to share this discovery with people who relate. Hope you’re all having a great day.

Feeling Frustrated

This is a vent post. I know people here can understand. I started wegovy in October 2025 and I’ve lost a good amount of weight since then. It’s slowed down a lot the last 6 weeks. Right now I average about 1.4 pounds lost a week. I’ve been alright with that, progress is progress. But today on my weekly weigh in I was UP 2.6 pounds. I’m so frustrated that a couple weeks’ effort has vanished. I haven’t changed anything about my eating or walking habits that I can pinpoint would cause it. Do we think sleep can affect it badly? I’ve not been getting enough sleep this week because of events keeping me up late.

I think I’m also frustrated because I’m really really looking forward to being in twotopia finally. I know the journey includes stalls and set backs. This is just my first gain since I started losing in October so it feels like a slap to the face.

Thanks for reading. I’m going to keep pushing and hope next week is better.

This is more of a vent post, but I welcome any wisdom from the community.

I’m considering asking my psych for a med change. I see him tomorrow afternoon. The reason I’m stuck is what I’m on now is technically working. I used to experience such lows that I couldn’t get out of bed for a day or two and was calling out of work a lot to the point I almost lost my job. But on 40mg of Latuda, those low points don’t happen anymore. I’m able to go to work everyday and function. I’ve been on it for about a year.

But I feel flat often. Some weeks I have no interest in my life and am just going through the motions out of obligation, and because I know it matters to me, I just don’t feel it in the moment. Some of my friends have noticed I’m not quite myself. I’m usually a perky and cheerful person, but I feel much more reserved and uninterested in engaging conversation. I don’t reach out as often to friends as I used to.

I also still experience lows, they’re just not debilitating anymore.

Honestly, I really miss the hypomania. I know it’s not good for me, but I miss the confidence and drive. The Latuda feels like it’s squashed my emotions. I still feel ups and downs, but they’re muted.

I’ve also been experiencing really low libido since I’ve been on it. It’s a bit frustrating for me and my partner.

Do I ask for a med change? My life is alright. I’m able to function. I don’t have **insane** side effects. But god, I miss the color in my life and caring about things. Actually caring, not doing stuff because I’m obligated.

I’m scared about messing with my meds. But, I could always go back to Latuda, couldn’t I?

For context, I’m also on 450 wellbutrin xl and 15 x2 buspar. I’ve been feeling this way ever since the latuda was added on though. (I know none of you are my psych, definitely not actually seeking medical advice. Just opinions on my situation with your own experience).

Thank you for reading if you got this far.
