Should I bother with warranty? I hear it's a nightmare

I have an L20 Ultra that isn't dispensing any liquid when mopping. It only remains wet for a brief window as per the base soaking the mops. I am based out of Toronto, Canada.

Dreame indicated it is under warranty and are willing to repair. But i googled repair experiences and oh boy... It seems like a nightmarish hellscape dealing with this company's after sales.

There are several specific accounts in Canada in particular and they all seem horrifying.

I am genuinely concerned that I will have a further bricked/ damaged device returned to me.

Is it all just e-waste?

One area of electronics that's increasingly getting on my nerves is the apparent decline in product quality and reliability. That said, I don't think I've actually been affected any more than the average person.

In the last 5 years, I've had a few issues: a dead pixel on a couple of OLED/mini-LED screens, a robot vacuum/mop with a failed water pump, powered speakers with cooked amps, and a pair of headphones with cheap hinges. Annoying, but c'est la vie.

But wireless earbuds... yeesh.

Sony WF-1000XM4s: battery degraded within 1–2 years and eventually made them unusable. Bang & Olufsen EX: same deal. And now my Nothing Ear (2024) are starting to have issues too.

At this point, I don't even know what it means to call a pair of wireless earbuds "premium" if there's a decent chance they'll be e-waste in two years. I didn't overcharge them and they didn't see heavy use. Didn't matter. I also don't really see a solution for myself. Wired earbuds are a non-starter, and the Fairbuds don't seem compelling enough.

I suppose the best compromise is to just buy the best sub-$150 earbuds I can find and accept that they're probably only going to last about two years.
