Suggestion: Area Loot Improvements

Loot Interface

For the longest time, I've adored the area loot system - I genuinely think it holds up as one of the best QoL features we've ever received for PvM, especially for cannoning, aggro slaying, etc. That said, I find myself fighting with it more and more recently.

With that in mind, I wanted to suggest a few improvements based on my own experiences, posts I've seen from other players, and just some general tweaks that I think would really benefit anyone who heavily uses area loot.

1) Ability to resize the interface (This is already possible, Ty TonyBeast100 - there is a 1px margin on the interface window, which makes this incredibly unintuitive in the layout editor).

This is a big one. We have fully resizable and snappable interface modules... except one of the most-used ones. Having 25 slots that are constantly shifting around isn't a great user experience.

The ability to freely resize the area loot window (in line with its already movable interface module) would be incredible.

2) Right-click → Loot All (of Type)

This one gets pretty labourious.

You're out there gathering thousands of ashes for inks (because you decided IM was a great idea), or cannoning Dagannoths, and you're clicking thousands of times.

Being able to right-click a specific item (e.g., Ashes) and select Loot All would be incredible.

It would also stop a lot of frustration when you're committing genocide, and drops keep reshuffling the loot window, causing annoying misclicks... and the occasional rage-drop.

3) Auto-scroll removal

I think one of the most annoying parts of the current system is when you need to pick something up on row six, the loot window refreshes, and suddenly you end up misclicking something from a completely different row.

Preventing the loot window from auto-scrolling when it refreshes would be an incredible QoL improvement.

4) Drop capping

This one's contingent on resize capability.

It appears item types are capped to a certain amount. If resizing is technically feasible without a mountain of back-end work, increasing (or removing) that cap would be fantastic.

There's nothing more frustrating than clicking 20 items, watching the window immediately refresh, clicking another 20... and repeating that cycle over and over again.

5) Filters

This is definitely one of those "nice to have" suggestions that's open to debate, but quick filters would be amazing.

I'm relatively confident the current database already has relationships between items and item types (armour, weapons, fish, ore, etc.). Having a filter button that populates with the item types currently available, allowing you to narrow down what's shown via checkboxes, would be the absolute Ritz of changes.

Only want to see runes and gems? We've got you covered.

---

Now obviously, this is a fair honk-a-chonk piece of work and, for the most part, probably isn't justifiable from a development perspective. But I'd be really interested to hear what the community thinks (especially the guy with 2m Abby Demon KC whose name completely escapes me), to see if the sentiment mirrors my own, or if I just need to be less passive-aggressive during my PvM sessions.

Happy Scapin' 🤲
