I posted the other day about a weird data visualisation I made all about Alvaro Recoba’s Eternal Strike, and lots of people in the comments seemed to enjoy the pointless fun of it all.

Well, I’d like to share a new thing which I built yesterday.
I’ve turned the Premier League season into a musical score. Each team has their own unique note, and the matches have been laid end to end, to create a 3 minute soundscape.

Is it accurate… yes.
Does it have any actual purpose or value… no.

To my mind, it is the greatest goal ever scored in the history of football. I am convinced that if it weren’t for the net or the walls of the stadium, the strike was so pure that the ball would still be moving today.

Now, 28 years later, I’ve set out to calculate exactly where that ball would be.
