You can do it

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to share a little happy news and hope it encourages some of you.

I submitted an audition for a project that was advertised on Reddit for voice actors and narration.

I was excited to sign up and have a go...but I'm still building my booth/studio... so my only option at the time was to record on my phone, in my car, in between traffic going by.

*I got one of the Main character roles! And a narrator role!*

It goes to show that having the best gear, whilst nice (and more essential in the professional realm), is not the be-all-end-all for aspiring VAs.

As we are told, "its about the acting!"

So don't fret, keep trying! If I can do it, you certainly can!

Hello! - Portfolio building and Feedback

Hello everyone,

I didn't realise there was a VO/VA community on here and only discovered it last week!

Nice to meet you all.

I am looking for opportunities to build my portfolio.

I do have content that I have created (which I very much enjoy doing) when I have the time...I work 50+hours a week.

https://www.tiktok.com/@alex_voices

There is a website etc but I won't bombard you with all that.

I have also done work for a local business as the voice of their phone system, which is on my sound cloud.

https://soundcloud.com/alexvoices-327218155

My content is English/British mostly, but I'm looking to use my accents/impressions/animated voices more in future, just need a little push where someone tells me what they are after and I'll give it a go.

So anyway, if you have any snippets, scripts you would like me to do I would be happy to try it out.

To meet rule 4; my rate is £1 per minute of dialogue but prices can be arranged of course.

And any feedback on my current content is more than welcome as I feel would help me a lot.

Thank you in advance and keep up the good work.

2026 40Kw interior - cupholders?!

Hello all.

I have a 1 month old 2026 40kw eTech Evolution.

The base model.

It's great...however, there are no cupholders?!

The centre console has two very shallow "trays" I would barely call them storage.

I've noticed that my interior does not match promo pictures or the owners manual.

Where the centre console would rise up to meet the dashboard I have...nothing... just an empty space.

This space would be perfect for a double cup holder, but when searching online, I can only find "inserts" for the centre console.

Can someone help me to find a 3d printer part, or point me in the right direction on how to request one?

TIA

Charging issues Octopus / Ohme

Hello everyone.

I have recently got to myself a Renault 5.

I use octopus for my energy supplier and I have an Ohme ePod charger at home.

Initially I set up charging through the Ohme app, as that was recommended.

However after one or two days it decided to stop charging the car at all and would not connect, every time I tried to connect my Renault account to the Ohme charger app it would come up with a failure.

After some googling I disconnected the charger and signed out of it and connected the Octopus Energy app to the Renault 5. SUCCESS!

This worked and charged the car regularly overnight for about three to four days.

Now it won't charge again!

I haven't signed out of anything I haven't changed any passwords the Renault app says the car is plugged in.

Even if I select boost charge to force it to charge the car right now nothing happens.... And a few minutes later the octopus app comes up saying it cannot connect to the car.

Please can someone help me understand what I'm doing wrong or suggest a better alternative.

Thank you in advance.
