I don't understand the 'Where are you from, Sam?' bit. Can someone explain?

I'm fairly new to dropout, I've only been watching for a few years and I see the ongoing bit about 'where is Sam from' & I don't quite understand it. Can someone explain it to me? I feel like I'm missing some context or it's possible (very possible) that I am a little stupid. Thanks!

Edit: thank you all for the answers!

eBay Promoted Listing Fees

I'll keep this as short as possible.. I'm sure some of you have been fed up with the fees that keep being incurred without notice. I finally caved and documented some of the issues I've had and submitted it to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and... I ACTUALLY GOT A REFUND!

I sell most of my items by accepting offers. When you get the offer, it'll say if you'll incur a fee via Promoted Listings. I kept getting hit with fees on orders that didn't have any sort of notice so I took screenshots of offers. Then when it sold, I'd take a screenshot of the order, showing that it wasn't sold via Promoted Listings. Then once they inevitably hit me with the 'Promoted Listings Fee', I took a screenshot of that as well and sent all of these to the BBB via their website. It took a month just to get the minuscule fee back, but still... IT WORKED!

I strongly advise any of you to do the same. Take a screenshot of your offers, noting that there is no note of it being sold via Promoted Listings. Then take a screenshot after payment has been made, showing that there's no note of it being sold via Promoted Listings. Then, if you get a fee, take a screenshot of that as well and submit all details. Be sure to make note of the item number and order number when submitting your request, as well as your username.

Hopefully this information is helpful to others!

My first time decorating!

This is only my second play through. I really enjoyed putting everything together but it took WAY too long. I definitely have much more of an appreciation for some of the designs I see on here now 😊

PS: My OCD wishes some of the rugs/walls were just SLIGHTLY bigger. Other than that I love all the cool details and things we can use to decorate.

I've lived in San Diego for a little over 10 years. I'll be moving back up near LA/Ventura next year. The closest spots to where I'll be moving would be Oxnard, Panorama City or Atwater. I'm very curious about the general environment of these locations compared to San Diego and which location has more clothing?

I know the thrifting scene has changed quite a bit since I started going to the bins 15 years ago and it's a bit different here in San Diego. The location I frequent (San Ysidro Outlet) doesn't do normal rotations, it's just a 3 hour 'piece sale' in the morning then switches to by-the-pound after that. It's not too bad, some of the regulars are a little rude but for the most part it's a good experience. I haven't had any issues and have only witnessed a few 'scuffles' over the last decade.

I haven't gone to any of the LA/Ventura locations since moving down here and I've only read bad stories on here about it since it's become more popular. It didn't used to be that way before I moved. Are the LA/Ventura locations really that bad at times? Are the regulars nice? Obviously people aren't coming on here to brag about how nice people are at the bins, people come here to post bad experiences but I am still curious.

Any help/advice regarding which location has more clothing and any notes on the general environment would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Spencer mentioned it a few times in a few different videos. Do you use the hole in your underwear or not? I’m 50/50, depending on what I’m wearing. Super curious, since they made it seem like Spencer was crazy for using it. 🤣
