Application process moving too fast (red flag?) 🚩

Hey ya’ll, so I am currently in the process of joining the Navy, after a long tedious process of trying to join the Air Force. I was ultimately temporarily DQ’d from the Air Force, which is why I switched over to the Navy. I’ve been in the process and speaking with my Navy recruiter for about three weeks now. I did mention to him that I did want to get shipped out as soon as possible and start my career. However, I feel like I am being rushed to join as well.

Generally speaking, this would be a good thing for me however, I feel they are trying to have me choose any job and ship me out ASAP. While although I do want to ship out soon, I did mention to him that I have a list of rates I would like to pursue. I also did mention, that I don’t want to just accept any rate, especially knowing that I have a bachelors degree. (Commissioning is off the table since I want to enlist first before becoming officer).

So now I ask you all, is this a red flag that I am over looking? I really want to join but I also want to go in with a job that I would enjoy and could translate well into civilian life. Also, are you able to negotiate with them as well? Meaning are you able to say no to a job they offer? Am I able to negotiate bonuses as well? Let me know what to say and how to navigate this process.

Need a rave crew.

Hey ya'll, so I am in need of a rave crew, or just anyone to go hit some raves with (Specifically bros). Lil bit about me is I am 27M. I recently got into raving after shooting (photography) local shows. However, I don't live in LA currently haha. I live in in the central valley but thats ok because my fam lives in LA and I visit them often. Anyways, been wanting to get out more and go to a rave in LA soon. Still new to the whole EDM scene, but I love the energy and people that come with it. Very spontaneous person and open to listening to new artists. Feel free to DM me.

Longest you've waited to join Air Force?

Hey ya'll, so like the title states, I wanted to know what has been the longest period of time you have waited to join the Air Force? I ask this because I am currently in the process of joining. All I need is for my medical waiver to be approved. However, I am about to go on 2 1/2 years of being in this process of joining.

Unfortunately, I don't have an accurate timeline of when I started the process till now, so bear with me. A lil backstory: I began the process of enlisting in the Air Force back in 2024. Originally, I had my eyes set on Air Force reserves and even got in contact with a local recruiter. I really was thinking about joining but eventually, months went on and I did more research. That was when I decided reserves wasn't for me. I had barely graduated college, and I didn't even have a full-time job yet. Around May of 2025, I decided to get in contact with an Active Duty recruiter. Since then, I already took my ASVAB, went to MEPS, got 1 waiver approved, now I am waiting on my medical waiver to get approved. My problem is that everything takes so long. I am honestly partly to blame as well, and I am not gonna deny it. I've procrastinated on getting some necessary documents.

Furthermore, why does the Air Force make you obtain so many documents? Now I am being told I might need to provide more documentation for a rash ointment I was prescribed for 2 years ago. Sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel, but then I see how far I've already come. I would assume once I get my waivers approved, the next step would be DEP right? My question is, how long would you go before you decide it's time to move on? How long did you wait to join the military? Are all branches strict with their waivers and needing the necessary documents? At times, I can't help but to compare my life to others'. Almost 3 years have passed since I started this process and yet I'm still here working a minimum wage. I've heard of people who join and ship out within 5 months. Sometimes I have a hard time compartmentalizing my journey. I need some advice, any advice would be helpful.
