33f land park/curtis park/midtown

Hey all, looking for some good new friends in the Curtis Park/Land Park/midtown area! I’m a new mom to the sweetest baby & married to the best guy, but I miss doing things just for me with the homies!

About me: I’d describe myself as a bougie aunt who just got promoted to mom :) I loved to travel internationally pre-baby (my passport is stacked!), cook fun dishes, try new restaurants, go thrifting, go to live shows with my husband, and I love interior design. I’m sober so I spend most of my drinking budget at all the coffee shops nearby!

I’m an introspective person who likes to discuss things I’ve read, watched, experienced, etc. I’m definitely not into the “it’s not that deep” trend of the last few years. I’m also a creative person who approaches most new projects with a “how hard can it be?” mentality :)

I’m an avid reader who has joined a few bookclubs but would love to find one that’s reading more contemporary fiction. My most recently adored books were Yesteryear, Last Night in Brooklyn, Blue Sisters, and Kin.

I’m looking for friends who’d like to grab coffee, go see a movie at the Angelika, hit up an estate sale, host dinners, or go walk around the parks with! You don’t have to have to be married or have a kid of your own, but I’m always down for more mom or couple friends if we’re a good match initially!

Hope this post works to find some like-minded homies. (pls don’t be a weirdo in my DMs PLEASE)

Advice: my current dream library is in my playroom/loft. How to make baby friendly (even if not totally baby proofed?)

Hi all! Looking for some advice on how to preserve my current home library wall (approximately 8’ wide by 6’ tall) that is in my loft. They’re currently mounted to the wall, but the open ladder style makes me nervous they’ll ALWAYS try to climb the shelves.

It’s the ideal amount of storage, but it’s in the loft that’s going to be my baby’s playroom. This is the longest wall by far, and the space is too narrow to try another orientation.

I am open to getting other shelves that are less enticing to climb, but hoping they’ll be a similar footprint & can fit as much as my current ones do.

Any home library owners who also had littles in their home to account for? I’d love any tips!
