✨ Bulk edition is here!

Marking titles one by one is over. You can now edit many items at once from any list.

How it works

  1. Hit the new bulk button in the filters toolbar
  2. Pick your titles: click them, or drag a box around them
  3. Hit the button again and choose what to do

What you can do to the whole selection
· Mark as watched, and pick the date just like you do for a single title
· Mark as planning or dropped
· Add or remove from favorites
· Add them to your lists (or pull them out)
· Pin them at the top of a list
· Remove them from the list
· Undo their last play, or wipe their whole watch history

It works anywhere you see the filters toolbar: your tracking sections, your lists, a person's filmography and more. Only the actions that make sense for what you picked show up, so you will not see "planning" when your selection is all episodes.

Scrolled far down? A floating button follows you so you never have to go back up.

Happy tracking! ;)

📅 Watched List: exact times, weekdays and daily totals

You asked for it, it's in:

Exact watch time on every item. If you show ratings on the poster, the chip now reads 12/08/2026 | 21:45. If you show ratings inline there's no room for both, so hover the date and it flips to the time.
Day of the week in date group headers. When history is grouped by day you now get SUN above the number, not just the date and year.
Total watch time per group. Grouping your Watched list by date adds the total time watched for that day, or for that month when the range is wide enough to group by month.

Grouping lives behind the Calendar toggle in the filter bar, and it switches from days to months automatically when the range goes over 90 days.

Thanks to everyone who pushed for this one! ;)

About the VIP Lifetime promise: I got it wrong, and I'm honouring it

I got this wrong, I changed the terms. I'm going to honour what I said: anyone who signed up between May 12, 2026 and the publication date of this post, and actively contributed with bugs and ideas, gets VIP Lifetime (details below)

Here's the full story.

When I published my first post on Reddit, I wanted to get users involved so they would take an active part in the project, to build a community that would give shape to all of this and let the users themselves decide many of the things that have already been built. I wanted to thank people for that effort by offering VIP for free so they could test it, charging absolutely nothing. I didn't even want to set up donations, so it wouldn't look odd in any way. I wanted to pay for all of this out of my own pocket. At that moment I also wanted to say thanks by keeping VIP for everyone who helped me with this by sending bugs and improving WeTrakr. But that's where my first mistake began: my words fell short and I was a bit naive back then, almost 3 months ago. I never thought this project would have this kind of impact. It took off suddenly, and those comments were forgotten.

The following month I was already talking about keeping VIP with conditions (as long as bugs were reported), but at that point I was no longer talking about lifetime, but about keeping VIP year after year.

Later on, worried that I wouldn't be able to sustain any of it, I narrowed it down again to specific conditions and 50 people. So I kept changing what I had promised as I went along, and that's on me, not on you.

Some of you have kindly made me reconsider, and you're right about many things. I acknowledge this mistake. Maybe I shouldn't have given anything away for free from the start, as one user pointed out. My mistake was also wanting to please everyone who wanted to help, and it probably would have been better if that help had been given selflessly. In any case, what's done is done and I have to take my share of the blame.

With this I want to be completely honest with you. I try to be fair, looking at what can be sustainable and what can't. I try to be involved in everything I do, always taking your opinion into account, and this is proof of that. I make mistakes like any human being, and I don't want to make the same ones as others we all know about and lose your trust. That's why I'm listening to you on this too. But a promise is a promise, and I'm keeping it.

What happens from here:

Anyone whose account was created between May 12, 2026 (the date of my first post) and the publication date of this post, is still active today, and who sent at least 3 accepted bugs or ideas, gets VIP Lifetime. (accounts created after this post won't qualify)

As of this message, I stop counting contributions. I have my own list, but it's almost certainly incomplete because there have been so many of you, so I'm going to put together a form to request VIP Lifetime, and I'll share it here as soon as it's ready. That way nobody falls through the cracks.

I'm also putting together discounts for anyone who wants to keep VIP once the beta ends.

The 10 users who contributed the most will also get a top contributor badge on their profile.

Thanks for your patience, and for being straight with me. I'm going back to what I should be doing, which is making WeTrakr better.

🎁 Better (and lifetime) rewards for our early testers

First, thank you! These past few days I've been thinking about how I can thank all of WeTrakr's contributors for your help and for the effort you put into keeping this project alive.

So I wanted to improve some of the rewards as much as I could, and update our "Will VIP stay free after the beta?" article, thanks to some of you who helped me with this update:

https://help.wetrakr.com/en/help/articles/2588747-will-vip-stay-free-after-the-beta

You're part of this project, and I don't want to leave anyone aside. If you have any questions, just DM me. Thanks!

[EDIT: About the VIP Lifetime promise: I got it wrong, and I'm honouring it ]

🎬 Better data on every movie, show and person page

Three additions landed today, all in the sidebar of any title.

Refresh Data · VIP
Missing poster, episode without a title, still that never loaded? Pull that title's data straight from TMDB yourself instead of waiting for our daily sync. For shows it reimports the show and every one of its seasons, so episode titles, stills and metadata all come back fresh. There's a 6 hour cooldown per title shared by everyone, and the page reloads on its own when the job finishes.

Report show / movie
Wrong data, wrong or inappropriate images, a duplicate, or something that shouldn't be on WeTrakr: tell us from the title page and it goes straight to our moderation queue. For anything that comes from TMDB, fixing it at the source and then hitting Refresh Data is the fastest route.

External links
Every external ID we hold is now a clickable chip: IMDb, TMDB, TheTVDB, Trakt, Letterboxd, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, FilmAffinity, TV Time, Wikidata, the anime databases and the show's own social accounts. You'll also see Data source and Updated, so you always know where a title's data comes from and how fresh it is.

All three sit in the sidebar and you can drag them into whatever order you like.

✨ New: Your Recently Viewed & Your Most Viewed

Ever opened a title, moved on, and then couldn't remember what it was? Not anymore.

WeTrakr now keeps track of the titles, people, collections and lists you open, right where you need them.

In the search bar: just tap the search field (before typing anything) and you'll see two new sections:

  • Recently viewed - everything you opened last, newest first
  • Most viewed - the titles you keep coming back to

Dedicated pages: hit "View All" to browse the full history on its own page, with the cover art and colors of your top pick as the backdrop. A few details:

  • Works for movies, shows, people, collections and lists
  • 100% private and on your device (nothing leaves your browser, no account needed)
  • One tap to remove a single item (it will remove it on Recently and Most), or "Clear all" to wipe the history

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

🔗 New: open any title straight from its external ID

No more searching. Jump directly to any movie, show, anime or person on WeTrakr using its ID from tons of services.

Movies, Shows & Anime: IMDb · TMDB · TVDB · Trakt · Letterboxd · Wikidata · Rotten Tomatoes · TVTime · MyAnimeList · AniList · AniDB · Kitsu · LiveChart · Simkl

People: IMDb · TMDB · Wikidata

Examples:

Only TMDB needs the type (it reuses the same IDs for films and series):

For MyAnimeList, AniList, AniDB and Kitsu, use the anime's main/first entry ID: the ID of a specific season or cour won't resolve, since we group the whole anime into one show.

Heads up: not every title or person is mapped to all these services yet. Coverage keeps growing as we sync more data, so it'll fill in over time.

Perfect for linking to WeTrakr from other apps, bookmarks, or right here on Reddit. Enjoy!

Scrobbling Update: choose when things get marked as watched

You can now set your own "watched" threshold for real-time scrobbling, per service.

Head to Settings → Sync / Scrobble, open your player's card, and under Scrobble (real-time) you'll find:

Mark as watched
By default we use each service's own detection (Plex ~90%, Jellyfin's played status, the Kodi add-on's threshold, automatic detection for Stremio). Untick it and a slider appears so you can pick the exact percentage (50–99%) at which an episode or movie counts as watched. Great if you like something to count before the credits roll.

Show in Now Playing (Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi)
A slider to choose how far into playback (1–49%) an item shows up in your Now Playing.

A few notes:
• Nothing changes unless you touch it. Your current behavior stays exactly the same by default.
• Works with Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi and Stremio.
• The custom "watched" threshold needs real-time scrobbling on (Show in Now Playing) for it to track progress.

Thanks to everyone who suggested this one. Keep the ideas coming

Jellyfin: Each person can now track to their own account on shared servers

Now every Jellyfin account can be paired with its own WeTrakr account, and the filtering happens inside the plugin, before anything leaves your server.

How it works
The plugin settings page now has a "Configure WeTrakr for:" dropdown listing your server accounts, the same way the Trakt and Simkl plugins do it.

• Pick an account, hit Connect, and a short code appears.
• That person confirms the code at wetrakr.com/activate while logged into their own WeTrakr account, from their phone if they want. You never see their credentials and they never touch your admin panel.
• Repeat for whoever else you want. Accounts you leave unconnected send nothing at all, not even a request.

To move to the new model:

  1. Update the plugin (0.1.21.0) from the catalogue and restart Jellyfin.
  2. Open Dashboard → Plugins → WeTrakr → Settings.
  3. Connect each account you want tracked, one at a time.

Two things worth knowing
• Connecting the first account replaces the old shared pairing. If three people watch on your server and you only connect yourself, the other two stop scrobbling until you connect them too.
• Right after updating, the plugin sits in "Restart" state and Jellyfin hides its Settings button. Looks broken, is not: it just needs the restart (or uninstall / install)

Repository URLs, in case you need them:
Jellyfin 10.11+ → https://wetrakr.github.io/wetrakr-jf/manifest.json
Jellyfin 10.10 LTS → https://wetrakr.github.io/wetrakr-jf/lts/manifest.json

Thanks to everyone who pushed for this!

📺 New: the Progress page!

I've just shipped what might be one of the biggest features I've released so far.. a brand-new Progress section (Profile → Progress).

It's one place to control all your active shows at once. You can apply filters and sorting over them just like any other list, but with the full experience baked in: per-show progress, episode-level control, and a lot more as Trakt did in v2

  • Progress at a glance: per-show bar with watched · episodes left · time left
  • Next episode: front and center, with quick actions (mark watched with a date, favorite, add to list)
  • Season by season: clickable episode chips with plays, notes, ratings and rewatches
  • Timeline: last watched, when you started, and an estimated ETA to finish
  • Status badges: WATCHED · ON HOLD · REWATCHING
  • Filters & sorting: includes on-hold, finished and up-to-date shows, sorted by time left by default, and works with your tracking / where-to-watch filters

This section is just getting started: what would make it more useful for you? Drop your ideas and suggestions on https://feedback.wetrakr.com/. Your input directly shapes what comes next.

🤖 New way to share your ideas & report bugs

From now on I'm trying out Featurebase to collect all your feedback (ideas and bugs) in one place. The best part: it's fully integrated with Discord.

Two ways to send feedback:

- Quick way: from Discord Just type /feedback click enter. Then post your idea or bug. It gets posted instantly, no need to leave Discord.

- Full way: https://feedback.wetrakr.com/ Log in with your Discord account (one click), Google or Email and post from there when you want to attach images or add more detail / extra comments to explain your bug or idea properly.

Why this is better than our old Discord channels or Reddit:

  • Upvotes so the community decides what matters most.. the most-wanted ideas and the most painful bugs rise to the top.
  • Nothing gets lost in the chat scroll, and it's searchable (no more duplicates).
  • You get notified when your report is Planned → In Progress → Done.
  • Public roadmap and changelog, so you always know what we're working on.

New docs & FAQ → https://help.wetrakr.com/ I've also added a Help Center with answers to the most common questions (mobile apps, VIP, public API, and more). Check it before asking, it might already be there! Your feedback shapes WeTrakr. The more you take part, the more the app becomes what you want it to be.

📚 My Lists just got better: Grid view + drag-to-reorder everywhere

A few fresh improvements to Lists:

New Grid view for My Lists Head to Profile → My Lists and toggle between two layouts (next to the sort button):

  • Preview: the horizontal preview you already know.
  • Grid: rich list cards (poster stack, progress, likes/follows, owner) just like search & discover.

Your choice is remembered. Give it a spin and let me know what you think!

🎬 New: Track how much of an actor's filmography you've seen

Head to any person's page (actor, director…) and you'll now find a progress bar right in their profile showing how much of their work you've actually watched.

What you get

  • Movies / Shows tabs: switch between the two, each with the total count
  • % watched at a glance, plus time (in years / days / hours) and titles/episodes seen vs left
  • For shows it counts episodes across their whole filmography, just like your show progress bars

Perfect for seeing how deep you really are into your favorite actor's catalogue. Available now for logged-in users. Go check your favorite star and see if you can hit 100%

🚀 Big Lists Update is here!

I've completely overhauled Lists on WeTrakr, plus a bunch of extras. Here's everything that's new:

My Lists, reimagined

  • New My Lists page with a horizontal preview per list (like your Tracking page), lazy-loaded for speed.
  • Manual ordering: drag & drop or use the rank number to arrange your lists exactly how you want.
  • Follow lists from other users, with dedicated My Lists / Following Lists tabs.

A richer list detail page

  • Segmented progress bar (watched / watching / untracked) right at the top.
  • Stats bars: rating, release-year and production-company distributions: plus most frequent actors & directors. Pick which ones to show and reorder them in Settings → List Layout (only the progress bar is on by default)
  • Markdown descriptions: format your list description with bold, italic, strikethrough, links and lists, with a live Rich Text preview (up to 2000 chars).
  • Cleaner header: owner avatar + "by …", last-updated date and inline privacy badge.

Popularity List Rank
Lists now have their own popularity ranking (based on likes, follows and unique dice rolls), complete with a 30-day trend chart on the detail page. Discover → Lists is now sorted by it, with a featured list up top.

Roll the dice (Randomizer)
Can't decide what to watch? Hit Random and let the slot-machine randomizer pick a title from your list: confetti included.

More list power

  • Add items to a list with a built-in search modal.
  • Collaborators now working: invite others to build a list with you.
  • Richer list cards everywhere (search, discover, movie/show detail) with progress, owner and quick actions.

A few of these extras (like the Randomizer and Collaborators) are VIP.. but nothing here blocks you: the full list experience works great on the free plan. Give it a spin and let me know what you think!

🔁 Rewatch improvements

When you mark an episode you've already watched, WeTrakr now asks what you want to do:

  • Rewatch from the start: restart the whole series from episode 1
  • Rewatch from this episode: restart from that episode to the end
  • Just rewatch this episode: add another watch of only that episode
  • Unmark as watched

If you still have earlier unwatched episodes, it asks whether to mark them watched, ignore them, or cancel. Episode states now update instantly, no reload needed. The same options show up for episodes you'd marked as ignored.

Testing: watch count on the check
The watched check now shows how many times you've seen each item, starting at 1. It's especially handy for rewatches: when you restart a series from an episode, that episode's watched button gets deselected (you're about to watch it again), so the little "1" is how you can tell it's already been watched even though the button isn't lit. This one's experimental, so let me know what you think!

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 A few updates to Social

I've reworked the Social tab so every section is now a full, filterable list, not just a preview.

Here's what's new: Every section opens into its own detail page

  • Popular from your following, Last high rated from your following, Following watching and Following now playing now have full pages with tabs (All / Movies / Shows), the same advanced filters as your Watched/Watching lists, and per-list sorting.
  • If you save a filter as default, it's applied automatically, both on the detail page and on the preview carousel back in the Social tab.

New user detail lists

  • By affinity: browse everyone who watches what you watch, as a full list.
  • Friends: the people you follow who follow you back, all in one place.

Last Following Activity

  • A full feed of everything the people you follow have been up to: watched, rated, reviewed, listed, favorited, followed…
  • You can filter by event type (Watched, Ratings, Comments, Lists…) and by a specific person.
  • Ratings now show with the app's color-coded badge, and episode events appear as Show · S2·E14.

Quality-of-life

  • Action buttons (watched / plan to watch / add to list) now work and persist across all Social carousels.
  • Cleaner, more consistent layout and counters throughout.

Head over to your Social tab and take a look!

👁️ New: Fade items by state

Tired of scrolling past the stuff you've already watched? Now you can dim it.

How it works
Pick a state and everything in it fades into the background, so what's left stands out. Click a state once to fade it, twice to fade everything except it, and a third time to turn it off. Hover any item and it goes back to full opacity, so all its actions stay right there.

Available states: Watched, Watching, Planning, On Hold, Waiting and Dropped.

Where to find it

  • Settings → Preferences → Content to set it globally: it applies to every list, grid and carousel across the site.
  • The eye button in any list's filters bar (next to the magic wand) to change it just for that list, without touching your global setting.

Your per list choice sticks around when you navigate back, and it's saved along with the rest if you set default filters on that list. Nothing is ever hidden or filtered out, it's purely visual.

Give it a try and let me know what you think

🔧 Fix: Trakt ZIP import: large libraries now import fully

If you imported your Trakt ZIP and noticed some things were missing, this one's for you. Trakt splits big sections of the export into multiple files (watchlist, ratings, etc.), and the importer was only reading the first one. So if you had a large library, parts of it silently didn't come through.

Symptoms you might have seen:

  • Ratings only imported for TV shows, but not movies (or vice versa)
  • Watchlist came in empty or incomplete
  • Any section with 250+ items partially missing

This is now fixed!

What to do: just upload your ZIP and run the import again. It's safe to repeat.. nothing gets duplicated, it'll only fill in what was missing.

Big thanks to everyone who reported it and shared their export files so we could track it down. Keep the feedback coming!

Leaving Trakt after the 1-app limit? Import via ZIP on WeTrakr, your new home

Trakt just capped free accounts at ONE connected app. Being the hub for your scrobblers, Kodi addons and streaming apps was Trakt's whole point, and they broke it overnight.

I've said I'd never fence off third-party apps or leave you stranded. Trakt just did both, so here's the way out:

  • No connection limit. Scrobble from Plex, Kodi (official addon), Jellyfin, Stremio and Nuvio all at once.
  • Because of their crackdown, you can now import your entire Trakt library from a data export .zip: no OAuth, no account connection, and no VIP needed to export. No item caps, no "too much history" lockout. Real watched dates, watchlist, ratings, favorites and custom lists. Someone last thread brought over 76,000 items!
  • Tracks your streaming history directly: Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max (Apple TV+ soon). No other alternative I know of does this.

And I haven't stopped shipping. Since my last post here, in just about 2 weeks:

  • Social: a friends activity feed, taste-matching with a compatibility %, "friends now playing", followers/requests, all privacy-first and opt-in
  • Reviews & Comments overhaul: threaded replies, mentions, spoiler tags, reactions and GIF search, plus reviews on seasons, episodes and people (not just movies/shows)
  • New "Ignored" episode state: start a show mid-season without S1E1 nagging you as "next to watch"
  • Duplicate-watch cleanup: imported from several apps? Review and merge duplicate plays so your watch time isn't inflated
  • Person pages rebuilt: filmography stats, "known for", a notability rank, trivia and quotes
  • Simplify Rating: rate on 5 stars instead of 1-10 if you prefer
  • Translate any comment: Translate into your language, one tap
  • Better TV Time import: correct rewatches, real dates, and nothing silently dropped
  • Faster: Improved across the board after a server upgrade

It's not a 1:1 v2 clone and I'm not trying to make one, I want to improve on it. So tell me what you're missing and I'll add it to the list where possible. I read everything and I ship fast.

VIP is free during the beta, and my aim is to keep it cheap after that (think around $3). I self-host what I can to keep costs as low as possible. No card, nothing to cancel, so give it a try without fear. Bring your Trakt or TV Time, Letterboxd, Simkl, IMDB, TMDB export and try it.

So tell me: what's the one thing still holding you back from switching to WeTrakr for good? Name it and I'll make it a priority.

We're 380+ on Discord now and growing. Thank you all, and especially r/TraktRejects for adopting me so warmly. 💜
