HBD To This Baby Tonight

HBD To This Baby Tonight

Somehow, someway this is 36 years old. The internet says it was released on this day (Oct. 8) in Australia and before that in the U.S. and I’m believing it. I remember it well. I was 20 years old then. She left us way, way, way too early. I was a HUGE fan from her debut but then just listened to her stuff on the radio while she was mega popular. I didn’t have to buy her stuff because it was always there. I was all in when ‘I Look To You’ came out. I loved (and still love) every song on the album. I got whatever stuff from Whitney I could find on vinyl from that point on and this is one of the gems I have. The cover was not in the best shape when I bought it but luckily the record is fine. It’s got a bonus track that isn’t available anywhere else (“Feels So Good”). Thanks for reading this if you did! ✌️

Viewing Ratio Question

I recently bought a newly released movie on DVD. The quality is great. Saw it first, enjoyed it. The second viewing I noticed the size switches regularly throughout the entire film. Technically it states: Widescreen (Dynamic 2.39:1 & 1.78:1). I believe the IMAX logo shows up at the end credits. I’m assuming then some or all scenes were filmed in the IMAX format that I know to be taller than wider. The movie was edited well but why did the filmmakers keep switching ratios even well within one scene/location/chapter? I knew films in the past that I’ve seen would switch one or maybe two times within a movie but throughout? Is it to keep objects or actors always well within the frame and as large as possible? Is this viewing called Dynamic vs. something like Anamorphic Widescreen? Any feedback appreciated. Thank you. 📀

My Homage to this SuperStar for Today

I fired up my laptop before midnight last night thinking I might redo an illustration I originally did 6 years ago to post by midnight for one of my Tumblr accounts. I didn't want to spend too much time on it. Just 5 minutes. 6 hours later it's done. I worked all through the night illustrating the graffiti and modifying everything else on it—colors, composition, mood. I guess I can sleep now. Enjoy!

Current Tour Tee

This is one of the concert tees available from the current tour merch both. I got this in Scranton, the first show of the tour. It ROCKED! It does have the concert dates listed on the back of the shirt. The selling point for me were the vintage cracks in the inks. Nice touch!
