Google Pixel Watch 5 Hands-On: Most Accurate GPS Watch Ever?

Apologies if already posted.

For those who don't know, DCRainmaker is one of the most thorough testers of sports watches, and he's been doing it for years. In his latest comparison with the competition, PW5 actually came out best for GPS performance.

For those who don't want to read the whole article he does summaries at the end.

Putting audiobooks on cassette for my daughter

I've been looking for a way to let my daughter easily listen to audiobooks without giving her access to a smartphone or tablet. I looked at the alternatives and hated most of them for requirering internet or being to restrictive in terms of content. Couldn't find any system that offered both Norwegian and English content for instance. I remembered how I would listen to audiobooks on cassettes as a kid and wished it could be that simple again. As I've been playing around with a cassette deck lately, making mixtapes again, I figured I'd try putting some of my daughter's audiobooks on tape with a nice cover so she can fetch them from the book case and play them herself.

I ordered a cheap Tomashi F-119, a cassette player with a builtin speaker. I know reviews aren't great, but the speakers will likely be more than adequate for her short story audiobooks. Will be interesting to see what she thinks and if she'll use it when it arrives.

While I was at it, I decided to put one of my own favorite books on tape. One Man and His Bog.

Anyone else tried listening to audiobooks on cassettes in the last decade 😅? I know it was unpractical for long books. I still remember my Philosophers Stone box that I had with me on holiday in my backpack. Despite that though, I do miss the simplicity of it.

Putting Audiobooks on Cassette

I've been looking for a way to let my daughter easily listen to audiobooks without giving her access to a smartphone or tablet. I looked at the alternatives and hated most of them for requirering internet or being to restrictive in terms of content. Couldn't find any system that offered both Norwegian and English content for instance. So I decided to try and fix it myself.

I put one of her audiobooks on tape with the same story on both sides for simplicity and ordered a cheap Tomashi F-119. I know reviews aren't great, but let's be honest. The speaker doesn't need to be all that great to handle an audiobook. Will be interesting to see what she thinks and if she'll use it.

While I was at it, I decided to put one of my own favorite books on tape.

Snowsky Echo Nano, tracks out of order

I recently got the Snowsky echo nano and struggling with the fact that my tracks are out of order on albums. They're being sorted as "track 1, track 10, track 2, etc". My songs are from Qobuz download store and seem to be tagged correctly.

Anyone else have this issue?

What cool cassettes do you have that aren't music?

Personally I have 3 audio cassette recordings my grandparents made. They used to record cassettes as a form of letter, and send them to my mum when she moved abroad. It's thanks to these that I know what my grandad sounded like.

PW1 owner. What am I missing?

PW1 owner here. Seeing as my watch stopped receiving updates a while back, I was curious. What am I missing out on that I would get by buying the latest iteration that you consider important?

Currently I use the PW1 during the day, and fitbit air at night (or when I want to use a regular watch).

I might consider a PW5 when it comes out, although obviously, we don't know what that will involve yet.

Just a heads up that if you're interested in getting a license for the last version of Acrobat Pro to support perpetual licenses, the key sellers are now starting to run out. Adobe stopped selling in bulk in 2025, and several of the resellers are now sold out.

After these run out, the closest you'll get legally is Acrobat Pro 2024 3-year licenses, but they stop working after that.
