What could be causing these kind of visual glitches on a Flat List ?

I have a user with a particular bug which I cannot reproduce. On one particular screen in my app they are seeing some really weird visual glitches, it almost looks like GPU textures are overflowing or something. They say it looks different every time the screen opens.

Does anyone know what these creatures are?

I have a really cute Moomins paper calendar and came across these critters that I don't recognise from any episodes I've seen. I tried a quick Google but with no luck. Does anyone know what their name is?

🚀 v2.2.0: "Metro" emulation rebuilt plus a new "Bright" tone.

Hey all, v2.2.0 is now available on the AppStore.

In this version I re-worked "Metro" to be closer to my initial vision for the emulation, with cool desaturated shadows and mids, and punchy reds & greens. It works well in city environments where it helps colours really pop against the grey concrete.

Currently Metro is the second least used preset, so I feel this change will be well received.

I have also added a new Bright tone which pushes exposure while preserving highlights. Perfect in scenes where you want to capture the intensity of the light. I've really enjoyed using it this summer so far.

Lastly, for a bit of inspiration, you can now randomise all settings in the advanced preset editor. Look forward to seeing some more whacky custom presets ;)

I've added example photos from the new Metro & Bright, the caption contains the emulation used.

Enjoy!

🚀 v2.1 now available with "random preset" mode.

Hey all,

Just a heads up that v2.1.0 is now available with a new "random" mode which selects between your presets, rather than emulation/tone/quality settings. Lots of you have asked for this over the years, so I'm glad I've finally got round to adding it!

As always, this update also fixes a few bugs!

Enjoy!

🙋‍♂️What custom presets are you using?

hey all,

I was planning to add some more custom presets to the library and I’d love to know what everyone’s favourites are!

Please keep it on topic 🙏

Hey all! The 2.0 update is now available on the AppStore!

This release re-works large parts of the rendering pipeline to deliver greater consistency, improved tone mapping, colours and filmic effects. I've been working on these improvements since Christmas 2025, spending countless hours tuning the effects to be filmic and consistent, while still running smoothly on-device. It's been tough, but worth it!

  • Dynamic Range has been rebuilt from the ground up and is now available on all devices. It’s significantly more consistent, with compressed shadows and clipped highlights that better capture the look of film.
  • Bloom is now sensitive to the luminance of the scene. Brighter areas produce a softer, more pronounced glow, while darker regions are less affected, resulting in cleaner images with improved highlight roll-off and separation.
  • Halation has been reworked in a similar way. Instead of a uniform “bleed,” it’s now driven by highlight intensity, creating a more natural rendering, especially in high-contrast scenes. The effect is more restrained, but far more consistent.
  • Saturation now behaves more like vibrance, affecting muted colours more strongly while remaining controlled in already vivid tones. As colours intensify, their brightness is gently reduced, producing deeper, richer results without a harsh, neon-like look.
  • Contrast has been adjusted to respond more intelligently to each scene, delivering more reliable and pleasing results.
  • The Emulation Preview now contains photos from real iPhones to help provide more accurate representations of emulations.
  • You can now press on the emulation icon in the Gallery to load that specific emulation.
  • On top of these changes there has been a focus on improving performance and stability of the app.

You can read more about the changes and see some side-by-sides here:

Huge thank you to everyone who beta tested it over the past months, it really helped refine the update before the public release <3

Enjoy!
