Hey there folks. Headed back up to Tippy Dam this October before we hit the dunes.

Just recently got into fishing. (Bass / Pike / Walleye)

I'd really like to catch some trout & salmon but don't want to spend a fortune on gear I don't need. My plan is to use my current spinning reel and grab a new 9'6" MH rod. I have an understanding of what line and leader to use but am clueless on what to use as bait.

Can anyone suggest me a somewhat simple setup that is a do-it-all for this section of waters?
(I am keeping in mind MI has specific rules on artificial lures)

Do I really need chest waders or can I fish from shore with success?
