Newly diagnosed in the middle of a bad flare

Hello Reddit! The title is pretty self explanatory.

Two years ago, I had sudden onset "sausage fingers" in my left hand, with accompanying pain and "trigger finger". The doctors didnt really know what I had so they gave me antibiotics and shipped me to a rheumatologist who suspected some type of arthritis, likely rheumatoid or psoriatic. After more antibiotics, stabilizing and cortisone shots, my hand got better after 6 months or so.

This time maybe 6 weeks ago I developed trigger fingers in both thumbs, swelling in my right hand fingers and my nails have ridges and split at the ends sometimes. This week I went back to the rheumatologist and he did a more detailed exam and we found psoriasis patches on my scalp so hello psoriatic arthritis.

To calm the flare im on a daily regimen of weekly decreasing corticosteroids over 6 weeks, folic acid that I take daily and methotrexate pills that I take weekly. (Side note, I wasnt aware that a pharmacy could give out this many pills at once. Over 300???? Damn!)

My question is that I've heard that the methotrexate can make you feel like death the next day. I've chosen Friday as my dose day because I dont work Saturday and so I dont have to worry too much if I do feel like crap, but I was wondering if there's a specific time i should be taking these, maybe to minimize the side effects even more if I get them? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you everyone!
