A restored Apple Lisa

My dad has an extensive collection of vintage Apple hardware and he recently spent a good amount of time bringing one of his Lisas back to life.

She’d been in the attic for more than 25 years, and I’d never had the pleasure of using one before. We’re going to look into printing some replacement keycaps but getting the internals working was the priority.

Mr Chips and Fish (both girls, both stupid)

These girls are about 8 months old. Mr Chips is a rex and Fish is a dumbo siamese. We got them at the same time but they couldn’t be more different personality wise - Mr Chips is easily spooked and very skittish, Fish is a chilled out lump 😂

Using an Apple Lisa from 1983

Hello! We have a big collection of vintage tech and my dad recently spent a lot of time resurrecting one of his Lisas. Its OS was ahead of its time in many ways and it paved the way for MacOS so there are definitely similarities.

When opening a program, it “tears off” a copy like a notepad and that becomes your current project. You can have several windows open at once (unlike on early Macs), and when you’re done, Lisa “puts everything away” before shutting down.

Apologies for the length of this video, she’d been asleep in an attic for a long time! Also sorry for the CRT lines!
