Need help finding information about this laptop
I recently bought this laptop for 15€. IIt didn't came with a cable so I don't know if it works or not but the person said that it works. Apart from the information on the device itself (pentium 4, Windows XP,...) I don't know anything about it. I searched for MEDION LIFE MD6092 and Medion LIFE MD6092 / FID2030 but google says that it's a storage disc. ChatGPT told me it is from 2001 - 2003 but I could not find anything on Google so it is probably just ai hallucinations. I would like to know the real build year and other stats or if anyone has seen that laptop anywhere because I can't even find a image of it whatsoever.

Sound Board/Console at News Station.
I need help identifying this sound console from my work! I need to find the manual and or make and model. There's basically no identification on the board except for 'Arrakis Systems Inc.'
I'm trying to find any info so i can add New Cart sounds.
Edit UPDATE: It is a 12,000 TMF28 Console from Arrakis with a DL4 Gemini module added in. The manufacturer got back to be and said it's been discontinued for over 20 years and cannot provide a manual.
I found this device at the thrift store for 4.99. it’s stuck on this screen and won’t load. unplugging it and plugging it back in but still nothing. What can i do? please help
I’ve been using an iPhone 5s in 2026. It’s weirdly fun.
I found my old iPhone 5s a few days ago and, for some reason, decided to put my SIM card in it. I honestly thought I’d use it for a few hours and then give up. It’s tiny. Like, really tiny. After using modern iPhones, the screen feels almost ridiculous. And it’s slow. You definitely notice it. But… I actually kind of like it. I can call people, send messages, listen to music, take photos and browse the web. For basic stuff, it still works. The annoying part is the apps. A lot of them won’t install because the phone is stuck on iOS 12. Some websites are also pretty painful to use. But there’s something nice about having a phone that doesn’t constantly throw things at you. No huge screen. No giant camera bump. No 50 notifications fighting for your attention. I even caught myself walking around with it without checking it every five minutes. Would I use it as my main phone forever? Absolutely not. I need modern apps, banking, maps, work stuff, etc. But for a few days? Honestly, it was refreshing. Now I’m looking at my current iPhone and thinking… maybe phones didn’t actually need to become this big and complicated. Or maybe I’m just getting nostalgic. Anyone else still using an old iPhone in 2026?
How eBay International Shipping (eIS) destroys rare 1983 computer history and tells the buyer to "deal with it"
I am absolutely furious. As a vintage PC collector, I managed to hunt down a legendary, extremely rare International Memories Inc. (IMI 5012H) 10MB MFM hard drive from 1983 for my low-serial IBM PC/XT 5160 restoration project. This drive is a holy grail, and the plastic front bezel with the IBM logo was intact.
The seller shipped it safely within the US, but then eBay's "Global Shipping / eBay International Shipping (eIS)" hub got their hands on it. Their genius warehouse workers ripped open the original secure packaging and threw this heavy, fragile 43-year-old piece of history into a flimsy cardboard box with almost zero protection to save on shipping costs.
Result? The drive arrived in Poland completely destroyed. The original, irreplaceable plastic front cover (bezel) is shattered into pieces, and the internal mounting clips are snapped off. A piece of computing history, gone forever because of corporate laziness.
But wait, it gets worse. When I opened a damage claim, the seller tried to wash their hands of it, telling me to "take the win" because the automated system briefly glitched. Then, a support agent named Kelsee from eIS stepped in and showed peak corporate heartlessness. Despite having clear photos of the shattered drive ruined by THEIR hub, eBay refuses to issue a refund unless I physically ship this heavy, destroyed iron brick BACK to the US before August 27th.
They expect me to waste my precious time running around to a DHL Express point to fix THEIR logistics mistake, completely ignoring the fact that I have a strict, pre-booked service deadline for this machine and am moving to Belgium right after. They destroyed it, they forced me to buy a second drive out of my own pocket just to get a replacement bezel, and now they expect me to do free labor for them to get my money back.
This platform has zero respect for buyers, zero respect for rare history, and zero professionalism. Avoid eBay International Shipping at all costs if you care about your vintage items. They will smash your gems and tell you to deal with their bureaucracy.

#OnThisDay 1942, Hedy Lamarr Patented a Secret Communication System
On This Day, August 11, 1942, Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr and composer George Antheil were awarded a U.S. patent for a “Secret Communication System.”
But this wasn't a Hollywood invention.
During World War II, Lamarr had an idea for making radio-controlled torpedoes harder for enemies to jam.
Her concept used frequency hopping, rapidly changing the radio frequency between the transmitter and receiver in synchronization.
Think of it like two people secretly switching between different radio channels at the same time, making it much harder for someone to interrupt their communication.
Lamarr and Antheil worked on the idea from 1940 to 1942, combining Lamarr's understanding of military technology with Antheil's experience with synchronized musical instruments.
Their invention was patented as U.S. Patent 2,292,387.
The technology wasn't immediately adopted for the war, but decades later, frequency-hopping and related spread-spectrum techniques became important in wireless communications.
Today, Lamarr is remembered not only as a famous actress but also as an inventor whose pioneering work helped lay the groundwork for technologies used in modern wireless communication.
This Old TV + modded Wii is an awesome Combo
I use it purely for aesthetic purposes and to please my love for just tinkering with everything.
The TV runs, either on a DC Adapter or 10 4,5V batteries!!!
I got it from my uncle.
The Wii is my childhood Wii ive had ever since 2011, shellswapped, with 11 screws gone missing. Recently having it get a clean NAND flash, allthough it was a impulsive choice. Because now all my childhood saves are gone.
Did anyone else have a glow-in-the-dark rotary phone plate? No one else I knew did and as a teen it was embarrassing
Of course, now I think it was super cool!
Our phone was in the kitchen on a small shelf held by L-brackets in the corner. Standard length receiver cord. If I wanted to sit I would have my ear lined up but the part I spoke to would be above my head. I think my mom didn’t have long calls and she didn’t see the need for longer (and didn’t want to pay for it).
At least when the power went out we could still call and check on my grandma with easy dialling!
ETA- to help repeat questions… Single mom didn’t replace things until they broke. I’m a younger GenX. The black phone itself wasn’t terribly out of place but lots of families had bright colours or even button phones (so fancy). To me if felt like a grandma Kleenex box cosy or excessive doilies under plastic furniture covers. It was a plastic cheap thing. When friends called parents for pick ups and said “why is your phone so weird” it hurt.
I’m an adult who doesn’t care about out of place weird things or individuality. But it was an awkward kid felt different situation. I’m sure people can relate
I spent a long time looking for what kind of device this is!
It turned out to be a Soviet clock, alarm clock, and calendar. True, they're not exactly in mint condition; the inscriptions are gone, and the stand's feet are missing. But the screen still shows the time. And yes, the LCD screen quality has deteriorated over time; it's only visible from certain angles.
I have these 3 phones from 2004-2008
2 sony ericsons and HTC P3700
With a stylus but one of them has a back covet and none have a battery
Dug up moms old laptop
Loaded this bad boy up with every virus known to man back in '14 when I clicked "free minecraft mods." True story btw
Anyways any1 have an idea on how to get it working again?
