This game thought me about psychology...
Yesterday I was hanging with a "friendly" guy. We noticed someone died far away. I told him I could defib that guy.
We didn't make it on time. He offered me to loot the corpse. "Go, you can loot him", I kindly said.
This was a test: he picked nothing from that corpse. But I knew it was not a free kit. Red flag #1.
"The corpse has some guns, go check them" he said. Strange, as he only had a Renegade. Why wouldn't you pick a second gun? Red flag #2.
At this point, I proceed lotting. With a Smoke granade in my hand. In a lapse of 2 seconds I started/stopped looting, and threw the Smoke at my feet. Boom, I had one Renegade shot on me right before the Smoke explosion. I was hurt, but safe.
After some healing, more smokes, and rushing with my Burletta, I destroyed this guy.
Rats have been one of my major frustrations in the game. I played both PvP and PvE, and my PvE taught me something amazing. Arcs are the big threath. You learn their scripted behaviors, their weak spots, the tactics. But humans? They can be your greatest ally, or your worst nightmare. Like in real life. Over the time I've learnt how to not be naive and to find patterns to defend myself from rats. It's a psychologycal challenge. I'm not sure if the greatest rats are skilled "fakers" or sociopaths lol, but it is a very interesting aspect of the game. Challenging, frustrating, but part of it.
