8085 IR Unboxing + Conditioning

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs4kTdSoEoI - Video link.

Hey everyone, finally got my 8085s, did a quick unboxing and added Bick 4 right away. With my 8111s the bick 4 conditioner really helped soften the leather after applying it 2 weeks into the break in process, wished I had done that from the beginning so here we are. They did not change the color of the amber harness one bit after drying. Expecting the CRT to go back to the same color in a day or two. In the end my perfect size for the Iron Rangers is 38.5 (6.5 US), all the way down from 40 sneaker size (yes i have smaller feet). Size 39 does fit almost perfectly after adding very thin leather insoles. However, when tightening the eyelets while not fully locked, they do seem to have to tighten quite close to each other.

My experience with IR 8111 on day 1

Iv been eying these boots for over a month and finally pulled the trigger. Downsized a full size. I was ready to torture my feet based on everyones break in story. To my surprise, they felt comfortable on the first wear. Didnt even need to double sock it. The only thing is, theres a tiny bit of extra room at the toes. It feels like i can go a further half a size down but then my big toe might start touching the slight curve of the toe box. Tiny to zero heel slip when tightened fully, assuming this will go away with the break in. Sides are snug and comfy. Did anyone else feel weird about the toe box having extra room at the beginning? My thursday captains were more uncomfortable on day 1 to be honest.

TLDR: Got the 8111 expecting torture chambers for my feet, didnt happen at all.

Burnt Ginger Captains

When I placed the order for these boots I was very nervous about them being dull and brown rather than have a red tint to them as I had imagined. The videos are pictures online dont do it justice. You have to see the red hues with your own eyes. I am happy to report that they indeed have a very rich and saturated (and red) brown. Hope this helps anyone deciding the color burnt ginger. You wont be disappointed.
