y’all think resale prices will actually lower before the event

hey! sorry, another post from me.. been seriously contemplating between shelling out 285 for a friend’s nosebleed tickets at the very back of the stadium or waiting for scalpers/resellers to hopefully lower their prices on ticketmaster. i’ve had plans to be in atlanta for all of tomorrow already, back when i assumed that the box office would be selling tickets (until i called them and they said they weren’t). from y’all’s experiences, what are the chances resellers actually lower their prices to 200 or under a few hours before the concert? i’m not sure whether my expectations are too high or not, i’m considering just not buying from my friend and take a chance to save money and get way better seats. i just know it’ll be an amazing feeling to be able to go to n1 tmrw knowing i have a confirmed ticket but i know i’ll feel just as crushed if i see a bunch of closer resale tickets going for less than what i bought this one for ahaha.

worth buying rn or waiting it out?

hey guys! so i have a friend who is looking to sell his ticketmaster resale ticket for 285 for n1. my budget has been about 200-250, not sure if that’s low considering how high resale prices are rn, and i’m on the waitlist for all of the nights. i’m also planning to be in atl n1 even though i don’t have a ticket to potentially try my luck with the box office (and people trying to sell right before the concert). is it worth waiting and trying to get a lower price, or should i just take it? he has a middle nosebleed seat at the very back. i know i shouldn’t be expecting to get anything for face value at this point but do i have a chance of getting anything lower or should i just buy from him lol.

Ariana at State Farm Arena — do they sell box office tickets?

Hey! Been trying to figure this out. I wasn’t able to get Ariana Grande tickets to any of her nights but I’ve seen online how people were able to get box office tickets the day of by showing up super early and lining up (for other locations). I called State Farm Arena the other day and they said they had completely sold out, but I was wondering whether anybody else has tried this before and whether their ticket availability is purely based on Ticketmaster? I thought that more tickets would open up the day of so they can’t tell whether everything will stay sold out but I’m not sure, this’ll be my first time attempting this sort of thing. I got parking on Spothero anyways because I am desperate lol

How do I regain my Chinese language when I’m used to incorrect speech/grammar?

Hi everybody. I am an American-born Chinese (20F) and I used to be fluent in my toddler years, until I started preschool in America and my parents stopped speaking to me in Chinese in hopes to help me learn English faster. I’ve taken three courses of Chinese in college (two beginners, and one intermediate).

Now, I completely understand that speaking and learning Chinese absolutely requires you to be immersed in it. I should be watching shows in Chinese, listening to podcasts, music, etc. And in the past, it’s something I’ve tried. But I’ve honestly felt more and more hopeless about it in the recent years because I’ve seen where my primary flaws lie when it comes to trying to improve my Chinese language and I haven’t been able to find a solution that works for me. I understand some Chinese, but when it comes to speaking, the correct forms of speech just don’t stick. I admittedly did struggle a bit in these college classes, partly due to the immense workload but also because I am used to speaking in ways where I can still be understood but the grammar is incorrect (my parents never corrected me). I’m no longer taking Chinese courses in college but that’s because of other reasons (I no longer have space for them).

Does anybody have any recommendations for what I can do? If I have kids one day, I definitely want them to know Chinese. And I want to be able to call myself bilingual one day without feeling like I’m lying to myself (since I can only understand some Chinese right now). I also want to one day be able to read and write it (which we also learned in my Chinese classes), but I know I should first focus on speaking. I live with my parents when I’m not in college, so they do speak to me in Chinese sometimes, but because they know I don’t fully understand, they instinctively default to English (no matter how much I tell them and no matter how hard they try). And when they do speak to me in Chinese, I respond in English. If I do reply in Chinese, it’s sometimes with broken speech or incorrect grammar and my parents don’t automatically correct me since they can usually understand what I am trying to say.

It just feels like I’ve exhausted every option. Before college, I was thinking of how excited I was to be able to regain some fluency by taking Chinese classes, but was surprised to see myself struggle, which I think has demotivated me. I know I’ll never be able to regain the kind of fluency kids have when they’re young, but is there anything I can do? I almost feel like people who don’t know the language at all before learning have it easier.

Edit: Thank you so much for all the helpful replies so far! I’d also like to add that I feel like my knowledge is also limited; it’s not just the lack of grammar but also the lack of vocabulary, poor tone usage, and some understanding (I’m not completely fluent when it comes to listening either). Does anybody have any recommendations for solid studying tools such as websites or textbooks that I can use to study?

What sunscreens do people with oily combination skin use?

Hey! I was wondering what sunscreens are the best for oily/combination skin (but mostly oily). I cleanse with Beauty of Joseon gentle plum cleanser every night, and am currently looking for a moisturizer that won’t make my face super oily. Even without using a moisturizer the night before, I use the Biore UV Aqua Rich sunscreen in the morning and I am super oily throughout the day. So, what do you guys usually use?

thoughts on my parking waitlist?

Hey! Most of my first classes of the week in the Fall will be on North campus, and I’m an undergraduate commuter. so far my waitlist is W05 Hull Street, N02 Oconee Street, W17 Broad Street, E01 IM deck, and North deck (in that order). Thoughts? My first classes for Tues/Thurs/Fri start at 8am, and Mon/Wed around noon. I know priority for us is super low in basically everything, so I’m worried I won’t get a spot but I really don’t want to have to get a parking spot in East campus again (I put IM deck just out of caution since it would be better than nothing).

Question about ATL parking and general concerts

Hey! So I plan on going to Tame Impala’s first stop in ATL (7/11). I’ve always been lucky enough to be dropped off every time I’ve had a concert in State Farm Arena, but not lucky enough this time, so I need to find parking. I know that most people will likely advise me to take the Marta, but it’s just something that I personally don’t feel safe with right now. I’m considering either Ruby or Sapphire Deck but the times are locked to start at 5pm. Should I worry about getting to the venue “too late”? I’ve only gone to non American artists’ concerts in State Farm so I’d usually get there a lot earlier for potential seat upgrades, worrying that merch will sell out, etc. Would that be a concern here?

Additionally, any parking recommendations besides the official lots? Thanks a lot!

best parking areas to put on waitlist?

Hey! Last year, I had a E01 parking spot, so it didn’t really matter where my first classes were (at least to me) since I’d have to take the bus regardless with most of my first classes being in central campus. Now, I want to try for closer spots. My first classes every day are either in Gilbert Hall or Joe Brown Hall (at 8:15AM and 12PM. Times potentially subject to change but ideally not by a lot).

I already have North Deck on my list, but I’m honestly not sure what spots are both (reasonably) close to my classes but also give me a high likelihood of receiving anything. I’d really rather not get a parking spot in East Campus, so I’m not sure whether I should add E01 again (perhaps lower in my waitlist, since I put it first last year to be safe) just to be cautious since I live off-campus on Milledge and absolutely need a parking spot. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

question about spiderman brand new day

Hey! So I think I just successfully bought tickets to Spiderman Brand New Day through the AMC website but I’m a bit confused. Never bought tickets this early much less for an opening night so I’d like some clarification here on a couple of things.

According to Google, the time these tickets were going to drop was 9AM EST, but I was roaming Fandango beforehand around 8:40AM, refreshed, and saw that you could buy tickets already. I was trying to buy through Fandango initially but that wasn’t working (assuming because of everybody else buying them), so I tried through the AMC website. When I looked up the showtimes, I was able to access the seat chart and fully purchase tickets for a Dolby Cinema 3:30PM showtime, no issue, but I didn’t realize it was for the 30th instead of the 31st (which is actual opening night. Not that I’m complaining). I saw that there was also a separate fan event showtime for the same night, but after 3:30, is it just a more “exclusive” event? Google is telling me they probably get exclusive merch (which I don’t care too much about) but I just want to make sure the 30th is correct.

Also, after my purchase went through, I refreshed the main page for its showtimes and it suddenly showed them all as “Available soon!” and greyed out, including the showtime I just bought from (and saw other claimed seats on). I checked and my payment went through, got email confirmation, and the seats are still reserved on the seat map for my showtime (both on Fandango and AMC). Should I worry about it? I tried calling them but they’re (expectedly) receiving a high volume of calls. Probably going to try calling again later for assurance but decided to try here too.

And to clarify, I’m pretty sure I purchase as a guest every time but just put the same email in.

Thanks in advance!
