[New Case Study] How Scott Lost 65lb and Built a System That Works With MacroFactor

New case study from Scott, and he's had quite the transformation, both inside and out.

https://macrofactor.com/case-study-scott/

Whenever we read through the forms for these, a theme always emerges that we think people can benefit from. With Scott, I think he did a great job at focusing on the habit side of making sustainable change. It's not just about doing something for a period of time to lose weight. These habits are now part of his overall lifestyle.

If you haven't checked out the habit series, I'd focus on this article for tips on implementing habits, even if you don't care about all the whys behind them. https://macrofactor.com/routines-for-successful-habits/

Thanks again, Scott, for sharing your story with us. If you want to share your journey with others and get a little swag, feel free to DM me your email address, and I'll reach out.

MacroFactor Nutrition Features You Might Have Missed: Recipe Logging Tips

This post covers several ways to make recipe logging easier. You can always build a recipe from scratch, but you can also import one from a link, create one from a photo, or turn foods you have already logged into a recipe.

One option we did not include in the post, but that I personally use for some recipes, is taking a picture of all the ingredients I have out. Then, I make a few edits as needed. It still saves me time searching for each ingredient individually.

Have a recipe logging tip of your own? Share it below.

[New Case Study] How Cameron Lost 60lb and Caught a Lifelong Goal

Got a new case study for everyone. Thanks again to Cameron for sharing his story with us.

One thing I really love about MacroFactor case studies and success stories is that they are rarely just about losing weight. They often show people learning to embrace their fitness goals again, or sometimes for the first time.

It’s always inspiring to see how one success can lead to another and that progress does not have to stop at one milestone.

Hope you enjoy it!

[New Article] Do Rest Times Matter for Performance or Muscle Growth?

After so many years of coaching, I found rest times to be an unexpectedly tricky part of training and program design for a lot of people.

Too short? Too long? What's best?

If you want the nuance and the studies, check this one out.

You'll also see that we added a bit more structure to the article for quick scanning and key takeaways. I'm going to (painfully slowly) add that structure to previous articles and use it in future articles.

Challenge? Read it during your rest times on your next workout.

[New Article] How to Warm-Up for Resistance Training

Warm-ups are one of those topics where I think the advice often means well, but there can be a lot of broad statements, especially about injury, where we just don't have much confirmation.

On one end, you'll hear people say to just get in there and lift. On the other hand, you'll see complicated routines that turn into their own workout. And as usual, it's about finding the middle ground.

In this article, we'll go over some of the research on warm-ups, how much we know, some of the caveats around injury prevention, and most importantly, some practical applications if you're new to warm-up sets and progressing into working sets.

Hopefully, you'll have a better way to think about your warm-ups, whether you've been overwhelmed by all the advice or skipped them altogether.

[New Case Study] Nic’s Long Game, With a Little Help From MacroFactor

At MacroFactor, we know we are not always the biggest part of every transformation, but we are proud to play any role. For Nic, we came in during the final stretch of a lot of hard work that was already underway. We are grateful to have played that part, and we hope sharing a bit of Nic’s journey helps someone else take their next step.

Thanks so much to Nic for letting us share his story. He shared a lot of points that I think will resonate with people who feel overwhelmed, but he kept pushing, met his goals, and even exceeded some of them.
