Grimm-like shows or books

Curious if anyone can recommend a current "Grimm-like" show. Or even if anyone has read or has book recommendations. I swear, there is nothing current I really like, so I tend to watch older shows like Grimm, X-Files, etc.

I would appreciate any suggestions!

Stupid logistical question

I'm rewatching a bunch of early episodes I missed over the years and something just came to me. When Nick was just learning about being a Grimm and was spending all that time in the trailer, how was he explaining all that to Juliet? I mean, they lived together. She never questioned where he was going in the middle of the night? I know when she first turned out his proposal she talked about him being "distant," but I was thinking more along the lines of mental and emotional distance - not physical distance.

My husband's usual response to me would be "b/c it is a tv show and it's in the script." And yes, he would be right, but it's one of those inconsistencies that I notice in shows that gets me thinking.

Hot take: Sick of the bounty hunter storyline

I'm watching the series again on Comet and have to say I forgot how irritating the bounty hunter storyline became. It really feels like it was drawn out far too long and became tedious. Anyone else feel like it overkill and boring?

NJ Malls Are Banning Unaccompanied Teens—Here's What the Rules Say

It is really unfortunate we are at this point. As a Gen-Xer, going to the mall was a staple hangout. You could grab a slice, hang out, head to the arcade, and socialize sans adult supervision. I don't know if this is a parental problem, a social media problem, a complete lack of caring by kids, or all of the above.

Chemistry in The Unnatural

This is another favorite episode of mine, and it continues to boggle my mind that they could have such great on-screen chemistry and such an awful real-life relationship.

Pelvic floor therapy

I've been having some minor incontinence over the last few years, but nothing drastic. After two incredibly embarrassing events recently, I decided to look into pelvic therapy. There aren't many options in my area, but I did find two female therapists. One is out of network ($185 per appointment) and one is more than likely in network. I plan to make an appointment once I get the referral from my doctor.

I've been reading a lot about it, but I would love to hear some first-hand accounts. Did you feel it was worth it? How long did you continue sessions? What did you not know when you started you wished you did?

Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: Thank you all for your sharing your experiences and your suggestions. I've been having issues for quite some time and my husband suggested I discuss it with my doctor thinking she might have some suggestions. He knows how upset and embarrassing this has been for me (especially the last few months). I'll admit the idea of internal exam is a bit surprising to me, but I guess it makes sense. Marital relations has never been a comfortable subject for me, and the idea of an internal exam, well, at least I have some time to accept the idea. Just speaking with my doctor took all my courage. Again, I am so appreciative for all the responses.

Feeling a little down - would like thoughts from other Gen-Xers

Not sure if this should fall under aging, advice/support, or mid-life crisis, but here goes...

Born in 1970 (F), married for 31 years, no kids, and feeling ultra down lately. Grew up in a huge Italian family in North Jersey. Now that family has seriously dwindled. Most who are left are either completely insufferable, or not really interested in talking unless they want something. There are a few family members I absolutely love, but I don't get to see them very much.

As I sit here writing, I can't help but feel such overwhelming sadness. Most of my family is gone. We don't have very many friends left (many have passed away).

I had surgery last year and before I went in I started to write down my final wishes, just in case something went sideways, and realized the things that are most important to me that I had hoped to pass on to nieces and nephews, either don't care or they just don't exist because not many in our family had children. And I'm not talking about material things, per se. I'm talking about family photos, Bibles, a few heirloom pieces of jewelry, and a few items that hold incredible sentimental value, like my grandmother's coffee pot. I have spent decades researching family histories, our culture, and heritage. I am almost in tears as I write this.

To think these items and information could just get tossed to nowhere breaks my heart. And I know I shouldn't care because, well, I'll be dead and there's nothing I can do about it.

Curious if anyone has had similar feelings or experiences as of late. I'll probably realize how pathetic this sounds tomorrow in the light of day and will delete it, so I'll apologize in advance for my catharsis.

Very sad with how I look

I am one year post-op from DJS, and I can't even express how sad I am. I hate the way I look.

The years ago I fell and broke my jaw in three places. Since then, I went through multiple treatments and doctors until I connected with a facial trauma surgeon and an ortho. They work together, so a cohesive plan was developed. I realize I had little choice, as I had very limited function. After 15 or so months of braces and a pulled tooth, I underwent my surgery.

Now I'm one year post-op, my chin is still numb, my front teeth hurt, and I feel so ugly. Everyone keeps telling me they don't see a difference, but I do. I could just cry. I've attached before/after and tried my best to get good shots, but I am really bad at selfies.

Edit (photo order):
It looks like the photos didn't upload in the right order. The first photo is what I looked like before my fall. The second and third are what I look like now. The fourth (first x-ray) is about eight weeks post surgery after the surgeon took the bands off. The fifth (second x-ray) is the pre and post op. The bottom photo is pre surgery (with braces). The top photo is post surgery (with braces). The next photo (with the photos in the background) is what I looked like about five months before my surgery. The last image is my x-ray film before they put the braces on about six months after the fall. The largest break was right at my chin moving upward, the break went straight through front to back and all the way up. I fell while my husband and I were out fishing, chin met rock and rock won.

I am exactly one year post-DJS. I still have sensation "issues" in my chin, lips, nose, and front upper teeth. It isn't totally numb, but it isn't normal. I saw my surgeon today and he said it could take longer or the feeling may not totally ever come back. I feel like my smile will never look right and while I know I didn't have much of a choice but have surgery (I fell and broke my jaw in multiple places), but I'm really sad about it. My husband said he sees no difference at all and I am still as pretty as I was before my fall, but I just want to cry.

The surgeon suggested I try Nervive. Has anyone has any success with it? If anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears. TIA.
