Kevin dude you are so fucking rich. Your friends are so fucking rich. You guys couldn’t cobble together $250k for the winner to go along with the special? Not even $100k guys??
Look, a Netflix special is obviously a big deal but several of the finalists are likely to get one based on exposure from the show, and then what did the winner really win?
Cash is huge for comics in that stage of their career. It lets them take some risks and make career decisions more based around their artistic vision than making a living.
Just knowing how much disposable income the people in charge of this show have on hand, the whole thing felt a little like auctioning off an unpaid internship.
