Everything good must come to an end… concluding this amazing trilogy today 🌵.

So far it’s been true. Each movie seems to get better. A Fistful of Dollars was amazing. But For a Few Dollars More took everything from the first movie and x10. It introduced Lee Van Cleef as Mortimer and his character was badass. The score is iconic and it also has hints of eeriness anytime Indio would open his watch. So far im loving tf outta this trilogy.

Last 4 watched is pretty diverse. Drop yours ⬇️.

Out of these 4 Hoppers caught me by surprise the most. Parasite was phenomenal, the final act had me baffled. Warfare had my attention from beginning to end. Scream 4 is my favorite of the franchise.

Peak arrived. (Hot take) this is my favorite of the franchise.

Looking forward to watching this in 4K after all these years. My only knack would be the yellowish filter in this film but if the 4K version removed it, it’ll be a whole new experience for me. Where does Scream 4 sit in your rankings ?

Pick your poison

Growing up I wasn’t too fond over the TCSM franchise. As I’ve gotten older I really appreciate the original. Then, I saw the 2003 remake and also really enjoyed it. So far these are the only 2 I really fuck with.

Which is the better 4th movie ?

Personally, im going with The Final Chapter. One of my favorite F13 movies and in the horror genre in general. This is coming from someone who has the Halloween franchise as their #1.

What’s your ranking (Excluded Halloween III as I view it as its own movie)

Halloween (‘78) and II are interchangeable for me. Some days I prefer the killing scenes and hospital vibes more than the OG. H20 has grown on me the more and more I watch it and can probably consider it the most rewatchable. The school campus makes it really fun. The 2018 one is also really rewatchable for me. One of the best masks in the whole franchise imo. Halloween 6 > 4 might be a hot take for most I know. But the Halloween atmosphere on this one goes crazy. Paul Rudd in it is also pretty cool. As I’ve gotten older I came to like Rob Zombie’s version of Michael. Aside from the annoying breakfast scene in the first one it’s one I don’t mind throwing on. Tyler Mane’s Michael is the most menacing looking mf out of them all as well. Halloween Kills has some of the best kills (obviously) if you aren’t trying to take it too seriously. At first im like why and how tf is he able to just kill all these fire fighters like nothing and him defeating the whole neighborhood at the end when they literally got guns and shit on him but (movie logic) it’s a badass film if that’s the mindset your going in to. Ends is whatever. Don’t love or hate it. The whole DGG trilogy has replay value to me and yes there are many flaws and wish they kept up with how good the first one was but oh well. What’s done is done. Resurrection and 5 can be swapped tbh. I see myself having Resurrection on more if I wanted something to play in the background and not pay much attention between the two. I really hated the idea of Jamie being mute. I found that very annoying. Plus the concept for Resurrection I can applaud for trying to be different from any of the others.

Finished this for the first time and woah…

My brother’s coworker recently hooked him up with a copy of The Substance cause he had an extra copy I guess. This is something I been meaning to watch for a bit so I decided to throw it on today. I will say, my brother was right. This movie was fucking awesome. The practical effects / CGI was phenomenal imo. After letting it sink in for a bit what came to mind was a combination of The Fly (1986) and Black Swan. The Fly because of the practical effects of the monster towards the end of the movie. And Black Swan in a sense of Elisabeth’s strive for wanting to star in the spotlight, while drastically killing herself in doing so. Both Demi and Qualley did an excellent job in playing one another. I can’t find any complains for it being my first watch. It was fun and the cinematography really caught my eye from the jump. The design of the house, Elisabeth’s yellow coat, and even the plainness of the bathroom were really nice. Camera work was neat as well. Overall good movie.

Between the two on my first watch I gave 2049 a higher rating. Only by half a star. But today for some reason I feel like rewatching the original. For its time they captured the futuristic atmosphere as if it was shot today. It’s aged insanely well

Grabbed this during the flash sale and barely opened it up today. Criterion knows how to do their packaging. The artwork on this is phenomenal. Been waiting on the right time to watch this knowing that it’s over 3 hours lol. Thats the only reason why I haven’t gone to it yet. Those that have seen it, where would you rank this on Scorsese’s filmography?
