Hello everyone!

I'm a huge fan of both the Halo franchise and trucking. For a while now, I've wanted a mod that could add Cortana as your navigator in ETS2 and ATS. Since I couldn't find one, I decided to make one myself and share it with anyone who might be interested.

But I also wanted to share the story of how this came to be.

After some digging, I discovered that there were actual Cortana GPS voice lines in Waze from a special event. Voiced by Jen Taylor, the original voice of Cortana.

In order to get the recordings onto my computer, I first had to trigger them through Waze on my phone. So after driving for around 4 hours I managed to collect over a 100 unique lines of dialogue, including the regular voice lines you expect on a GPS and several references to the Halo franchise.

There were a few lines I couldn't trigger through Waze that were needed for the mod, so I crafted them by editing and combining the existing lines I already had. This also meant learning how to edit voice tracks in Audacity along the way.

With all the tracks needed for the mod, it was time to learn FMOD and figure out how ETS2/ATS actually handles navigation audio. It was difficult at first, but once I got the hang of it, it became really enjoyable.

Then came creating the actual mod structure, and test if everything was working as intended in both games.

After several days of work, experimenting and learning how all these different programs work, I was ready to share the mod with the community, learning how to post it on the Steam Workshop.

This was a short but incredibly enjoyable journey creating my first mod for these games. I learned a lot about how ETS2/ATS work under the surface, and it gave me an even greater appreciation for the modding community and all the work that goes into these projects.

I've also kept the original, untouched recordings that I extracted during the process. I think preserving these recordings is worth it.

I don't really know how to express this, so it might be a little confusing to read. I (M24) am in love with my best friend (M23) and his girlfiend (F20).

We live in a small town, so the three of us have always been close friends and know each other really well. at this point this love is more platonic than anything else, i just need to vent and talk to someone else.

Me and him already had a thing going on in the past. We never got into a serious relationship, but we had sex a few times before deciding to stop and just remain friends. We are still very close, best friends, as i said. She knows this and she is completely fine with it.

I have liked her for a while too. Nothing ever happened between us because when she told me she liked my best friend, I stopped trying to get in a relationship with her, as i didn't want to mess things up for any of us.

It's not like I'm jealous of them or anything, it's the complete opposite. When they started dating, everyone on our friend group was against it and I was the only one that supported them, and even gave them some advice for each other since I know them both really well. The thing is that I can't stop thinking about the "what if".

Me and him have always had a really good connection, and the sex was was amazing, so I know for a fact we could have had a great relationship. And with her even though we never got into anything, it feels like it could have been great too.

It is hard for me to not have feelings for both of them, they both have great personalities, they are good looking and really hot. Add that to what already happened with him and the long lasting friendship we have, and it gets complicated.

Me and him are both bisexual (she knows that), but he always leaned more toward women, so for obvious reasons I can't compete with that.

I'm never going to try anything. I'm not into polyamory, and the only thing that would happen is them cutting me off and I really don't want that. I want this friendship to last for ever. We hang out a lot and we always have something to talk about, never a boring moment, and I really care about them, they are like my family at this point. I should add that they have one of the best relationships I have ever seen. They care for each other, complement each other really well and are deeply in love. They have been together for 2.5 years now and I really want them to last, get married, have children and all that.

I don't know if getting in a relationship with someone else would help this mess or something, but I really need to get my head straight or i'm going to lose my mind, but at the same time I don't want a partner just for the sake of it or as a "patch", i want what they have, a strong connection and a long lasting relationship with someone that I care for them and viceversa.
