Please Help reaching meta about DOA left controller

I bought my kid a new Meta quest 3 about 6 weeks ago (FWIW, a gift because she was going to be in the hospital then confined home for weeks) and it came with a bad left controller. Support quickly agreed to send an expedited replacement but it never shipped.

I keep contacting them and they keep saying they would check/ get back to me/ etc. I suspect that I am just chatting with an AI or something.

Can anyone please help getting in touch with a real person?

DOA left controller.

I bought my kid a queat 3 a month ago. The left controller beeps randomly and I eventually figured out that there's something wrong with the haptic motor rather than an incorrect setting/ user error. ( There is Screeching beeping with all haptic feedback).

So, I contacted support, gave them all the serial numbers and a credit card to process an "advance replacement". It has now been 3 weeks, and all I've gotten from them is increasingly urgent emails to return the bad one but no tracking number for the new one. I've contacted them a few times now with the replacement order number and they just keep promising ro look into it without resolution.

The only known wrinkles are:

  1. The device is registered on my kid's account but I started the replacement order.

  2. I had an initial chat with customer service that was dropped without being completed and there is some record of that return in their system.

Anybody have any idea on how to get the replacement moving along or why mine appears to be stuck? My kid has been very patient but it's kinda sad that much od the excitement for the gift has totally warn off at this point.

Tldr; DOA left controller that Meta dropped the ball in replacing.

Minimal automation advice

Looking for guidance/ advice. I have a small 6000 gallon fiberglass pool (2024) with a VS pentair pump and gas heater, and 1-color light. There is one valve switching between main and skimmer, but automating the valve is probably not of interest.

I am interested in adding a salt system with some some base level of automation. I would like to have a ORP and pH probe, and be able to control the new (TBD) salt cell, the heater etc by phone app.

I come from a science background and am familiar with Python, can solder etc. I might be interested in some sort of DIY /opensource approach if it didn't eat too much time, but would be happy to find an off the shelf approach too.

Circupool has an automated salt cell that they promise to add pump & heater control to in "late" 2026. That system, minus the "coming soon" relay control features costs $2800, including acid doser. This is the closest ive found to what I'm looking for.

Tldr; not looking for the simplest system, looking for the simplest system to achieve chlorine measurement, salt cell control, pump, heater, light control that works with existing pentair equipment.
