Grand Theft Auto San Andreas running on Meta Quest 3

While working on my other two mods I got tired of waiting for the GTA San Andreas standalone port that Zuck announced ages ago so I did it myself with the help of vibe coding. Still a ways to go but it runs native on the Quest 3 right now at a solid 90 FPS and it feels really good already.

RayRodTV just released Diddy Kong Racing in VR!

Like his other mods, it provides 4 camera views: first person, third person, diorama and theater. We can choose how we will see that huge friendly dino, from Diddy's own eyes to up above he and his green friend.

You can install the game and its updates from the Multiverse VR Hub. There you will find some 64 games already available, like Mario, Mario Kart, Star Fox, F Zero, Banjo, and other games like Sonic Robo Blast 2 and Ring Racers. Also, some upcoming surprises awaits for our retrogaming dreams coming true, Smash Bros and Goldeneye!

All his mods will come to Quest, and for now we have Mario and Mario Kart available for the platform.

The Quest 1 bootloader has now been unlocked on the latest firmware!

The method uses a privilege-escalation chain to gain root, then replaces the stock ABL with an older vulnerable version, allowing the bootloader to be unlocked through a known fastboot vulnerability. The folk that are working on this exploit are currently cleaning everything up and plan to release the full method/tooling soon on this github repo. If you still have a Quest 1 lying around, it might finally be time to dig it back out! EDIT: It has released!

My Quest 3S won't turn on

Hey I'm new to having a meta quest 3S, only getting mine a couple of months ago. But suddenly roughly an hour after I plaid on it and left it to charge I came back to see what percent it was on and it wouldn't turn on, I checked if the charger was working and it was but the vr itself wouldn't turn on the little light when it plugged in, I've seen videos of people talking about "The Black Screen of Death" but have no how/if I can fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is our Wizard VR Game -- We would like to know what do you think about the Spell Casting system

In this short video, we give a brief overview of the main concept behind our project—The Magician VR—and how we've approached it. It's our first major project, and we'd love to hear your thoughts.

What if your next gaming device was a pair of AR glasses?

A couple of years ago, we would've probably called you crazy if you told us Track Craft would one day run on a pair of AR glasses.

Well, that day is here.

Track Craft will be available on the new Specs.

Should I get back into VR?

So my quest (meta quest 3) has been sitting on its usual sitting place for about (3??) months, ever since rec room shut down, because I would play it with my friend a lot. But now I don’t really know what games to play because the free ones are all filled with weird 12 year old boys and there are so many games I could buy. So I guess I’m more asking for recommendations. Please help! And also obviously should I get back into VR? Bye.

I made my VR inventory a pocket dimension you can physically reach into.

You can look inside it, store items, and physically reach back in to pull them out when you need them.

I wanted inventory to feel like part of the VR world instead of another floating menu.

Would you prefer something like this over a standard inventory system?

Both episodes of Half-Life 2 are now playable standalone on Quest

Both episodes of Half-Life 2 are now playable standalone on the Quest. Since this is still early in development there may be performance issues, especially in the episodes, as well as bugs. Please let me know if you notice anything wrong.

Flight/space combat sim with good replayability?

I got Star Wars: Squadrons when it came out, went in for the full experience with VR headset and HOTAS. I played through the full campaign and loved it.

Then I tried the online battles and hated it.

I'm a casual gamer, not very competitive. I wanted the experience of being a space pilot, but didn't have the time to train to be a really good one. I would enter combat and die in about ten seconds every time.

I've tried a few other space sims like Endspace, but I always fell victim to VR-sickness from all the roll and yaw. And the gameplay felt very repetitive. That was something I really liked about Squadrons -- the campaign had variety.

I think what I'm looking for is an experience like the old Nintendo StarFox games -- I need to get from point A to point B, maybe through some terrain, and have some freedom to fly around and shoot bad guys that get in my way. What I'm not looking for is a repetitive/infinite dogfight where I'm just flying in circles all the time trying to shoot the guy who is behind me trying to shoot me.

Any recommendations?

1st person Vr movies

I dont know how many others have thought about this but I was wondering has anyone ran hardcore Henry or other first person movies through a program to optimize it for Vr useage. I feel like that would be a phenomenal way to watch it. Especially if u go all in and spend the time to custom program haptic responses to major injuries Henry recieves.

Steam Link help, constant crashing

Hi, so as it says in the title my steam link recently started crashing. I use the quest 3 specifically, and it was working just fine without an issue yesterday. Now, anytime I say go to launch VRChat in steam link it crashes when it's initializing the world. Then, it'll say that my host pc has stopped responding. Here's one thing it said, in which I'll provide a screenshot. What can I do to fix this?

Full Fix: Virtual Desktop Quest 3 USB-C Crashes Resolved

Summary of Fixes Applied

Initial issue:

Frequent crashes when using Virtual Desktop beta on Quest 3 with USB-C connection, accompanied by a "USB detected – allow access to files" message after quitting Virtual Desktop (when returning to the Quest interface).

Fixes applied:

1. USB Power Management (Device Manager)

- In Device Manager → Universal Serial Bus controllers:

- For each USB Root Hub (USB 3.0), USB Generic Hub, and USB SuperSpeed Generic Hub:

- Right-click → Properties → Power Management tab

- Unchecked: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

- Number of entries modified: 1 USB Root Hub + 5 USB Generic Hubs + 1 USB SuperSpeed Generic Hub.

2. USB Selective Suspend Disabled

- Option A – PowerShell (admin):

powershell

powercfg /setacvalueindex 2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3 0853a681-27c8-4100-a2fd-82013e970683 0

powercfg /setactive scheme_current

- Option B – Windows Settings:

- `Win + R` → type `control powercfg.cpl,,3` → Enter

- Expand USB settings → USB selective suspend setting

- Set to Disabled for Plugged in (and On battery if laptop)

- Click Apply → OK

3. Full Restart

- Restarted the PC after applying the settings.

4. Connection Sequence

- Unplug the Quest.

- Launch Virtual Desktop Streamer on PC.

- Launch Virtual Desktop on Quest.

- Plug in the USB-C cable.

- Decline file access if prompted.

- Select the PC with the USB icon.

Result

Games tested: Max Mustard, Beat Saber, Half-Life: Alyx, Lucky's Tale, and Google Earth all suffered from frequent stuttering on Wi-Fi 6. The USB connection resolved this issue: everything is now stable and smooth after applying these settings in Windows 11.

Configuration:

- Windows 11 Pro (build 26220.9022)

- Quest 3 – Horizon OS v2.6 Build 5234532.4010.520

- Virtual Desktop beta v1.34.20.0 (Quest 3 and PC Streamer)

- Cable: Iniu USB 3.0 Link Cable 5m (€27 on Amazon)

- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 8 GB

- RAM: 32 GB DDR5

- Storage: 2 TB NVMe SSD

Additional note:

The "USB detected – allow access to files" message appears after quitting Virtual Desktop, when returning to the Quest interface.

Is it possible/are there any plans for being able to link your Quest 3 to your phone (Android) ?

I recently bought a pretty decent new Phone and learnt I could play VRC for example on it so I thought it would be quite cool to be able to link my Quest3 to my phone in the same way you'd link to your PC.

If it is possible officially or unofficially I'm interested in hearing about it.
