Recently restored an IBM PC 300GL/6287 (Pentium II 400MHz, 256MB RAM) with an S3 Trio3D. Added a Voodoo2 12MB and a refurbished 120GB HDD. Running on the onboard ESS Solo-1 sound chip for now.
The case has yellowed, still deciding whether to dismantle the monitor to Retrobrite it, but I’ll definitely do the front case.
With so many new cores released in this couple of months, it hard to keep track what are the new cores. Is there a way organized a core and sort it by release date ?
Instead of stacking on a desktop, I moved all my MIDI modules, matrix, and mixer into a 12U rack.
I recently installed a 5.25 floppy drive and i can only use (read/write/format) it if there is a working disk in the A: 3.5 1.44mb drive. Any idea what might cause this ?
I'm using font/misc_4x8 at the moment, any other recommendations for better legibility?
Another personal grail added to the collection.
I recently acquired this desktop, and apparently, its motherboard has been replaced with a P3 667 MSI-MS-6368 Ver 5.0. So it doesn't boot with the IBM BIOS and Logo, which I would prefer. So I’m thinking of an upgrade maybe a proper IBM P4 in micro ATX size, any recommendation?
